Get ready for all the name calling, you know if you opposed this bill you are a racist according to sniveling Harry Reid, Jorge Bush, Ted Kennedy, Dick Durbin etc?

I am proud to be a racist if it means I am opposed to those idiots

I got a call from the RNC a few days ago, trolling for donations. I told him I'm done with giving cash to the RNC at the moment because of the shamnesty Bush & Co. tried to ram through. He said "But we need a Republican in the White House in 2008" to which I said I'll give money directly to Rudy. They even sent me a lovely photo of W with his wife hoping to get a check out of me last week.

<!-- end article header -->President Bush is pursuing a globalist agenda to create a North American Union, effectively erasing our borders with both Mexico and Canada. This was the hidden agenda behind the Bush administration's true open borders policy.

Secretly, the Bush administration is pursuing a policy to expand NAFTA politically, setting the stage for a North American Union designed to encompass the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. What the Bush administration truly wants is the free, unimpeded movement of people across open borders with Mexico and Canada.

President Bush intends to abrogate U.S. sovereignty to the North American Union, a new economic and political entity which the President is quietly forming, much as the European Union has formed.

The blueprint President Bush is following was laid out in a 2005 report entitled "Building a North American Community" published by the left-of-center Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). The CFR report connects the dots between the Bush administration's actual policy on illegal immigration and the drive to create the North American Union:
At their meeting in Waco, Texas, at the end of March 2005, U.S. President George W. Bush, Mexican President Vicente Fox, and Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin committed their governments to a path of cooperation and joint action. We welcome this important development and offer this report to add urgency and specific recommendations to strengthen their efforts.
What is the plan? Simple, erase the borders. The plan is contained in a "Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America" little noticed when President Bush and President Fox created it in March 2005:
In March 2005, the leaders of Canada, Mexico, and the United States adopted a Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP), establishing ministerial-level working groups to address key security and economic issues facing North America and setting a short deadline for reporting progress back to their governments. President Bush described the significance of the SPP as putting forward a common commitment "to markets and democracy, freedom and trade, and mutual prosperity and security." The policy framework articulated by the three leaders is a significant commitment that will benefit from broad discussion and advice. The Task Force is pleased to provide specific advice on how the partnership can be pursued and realized.

To that end, the Task Force proposes the creation by 2010 of a North American community to enhance security, prosperity, and opportunity. We propose a community based on the principle affirmed in the March 2005 Joint Statement of the three leaders that "our security and prosperity are mutually dependent and complementary." Its boundaries will be defined by a common external tariff and an outer security perimeter within which the movement of people, products, and capital will be legal, orderly and safe. Its goal will be to guarantee a free, secure, just, and prosperous North America.

The perspective of the CFR report allows us to see President Bush's speech to the nation as nothing more than public relations posturing and window dressing. No wonder President Vincente Fox called President Bush in a panic after the speech. How could the President go back on his word to Mexico by actually securing our border? Not to worry, President Bush reassured President Fox. The National Guard on the border were only temporary, meant to last only as long until the public forgets about the issue, as has always been the case in the past.

The North American Union plan, which Vincente Fox has every reason to presume President Bush is still following, calls for the only border to be around the North American Union -- not between any of these countries. Or, as the CFR report stated:
The three governments should commit themselves to the long-term goal of dramatically diminishing the need for the current intensity of the governments’ physical control of cross-border traffic, travel, and trade within North America. A long-term goal for a North American border action plan should be joint screening of travelers from third countries at their first point of entry into North America and the elimination of most controls over the temporary movement of these travelers within North America.
Discovering connections like this between the CFR recommendations and Bush administration policy gives credence to the argument that President Bush favors amnesty and open borders, as he originally said. Moreover, President Bush most likely continues to consider groups such as the Minuteman Project to be "vigilantes," as he has also said in response to a reporter's question during the March 2005 meeting with President Fox.

Why doesn’t President Bush just tell the truth? His secret agenda is to dissolve the United States of America into the North American Union. The administration has no intent to secure the border, or to enforce rigorously existing immigration laws. Securing our border with Mexico is evidently one of the jobs President Bush just won't do. If a fence is going to be built on our border with Mexico, evidently the Minuteman Project is going to have to build the fence themselves. Will President Bush protect America's sovereignty, or is this too a job the Minuteman Project will have to do for him?

``We are in trench warfare and it's going to be rough,'' said Pennsylvania Republican Arlen Specter, a chief sponsor of the legislation. ``But we are going to see the will of the Senate work one way or another.''

Arlen you :happyass:

It is the will of the PEOPLE, not of you power hungry jerk-offs.

A bill has to be extremely unpopular when vote buying, arm twisting, rule breaking tactics fail. The first thing that struck me about it was, where is the fig leaf? 24 hours and you're eligible for a visa and social security card? Verification of identity and work record would be a huge task if done before issuance when you still have the leverage of, present more evidence or no visa. But after time has elapsed and the burden of proof shifts it's absurd to try and back check.I changed jobs, I moved, they went out of business or changed the name, mistaken identity its another Juan Gonzalez, clerical error. This wasn't just amnesty it was an incentive program for new illegals. They could get legal id and social security# with forged documents requiring a much lower standard of authenticity. The really frightening question that arises is, have our leaders become to stupid to scam? In Iraq we're staging a mini-crackdown in the summer of 2007(too little, way too late). What if in 1946 Truman had decided we needed a military build up? Do you think history would have been different? Perhaps studying the French aristocracy of the late 18th century would be helpful.

cincy, I want a practical solution. It has to involve some method to allow many of the 12 million to stay. We're not capable of deporting 12 million illegals. Just has we're not capable of processing the documentation of these 12 million people with a 24 hour turn around. If you want to fix the problem, there has to be some middle ground. There is a saying that a good settlement happens when neither party is happy.

politicians closest to the situation usually seem to support some sort of amnesty.

It's not has easy as enforcing existing laws. That horse has left the barn.

I think W's bill is too soft and without teeth to prevent ongoing abuses. But given the two extremes on the table, I'll take W's bill.

Willie I'm not sure whether or not we can deport 20 million people. I'm sure we can't stop people from coming in to the country or staying illegally. However we can stop them from getting jobs. Ever hear of the Civil Rights Act or the Clean Air Act, the EEOC, the EPA. Huge changes have been effected over the entire country of 300 million by enforcing the law. Employment laws can be enforced if the will is there.

They're trying to keep-up/stay ahead of europe and china.

The US market is now smaller than both the eu and china.
EU about 500 million
China..um...25 billion or sumthin'...

Incorporating Canada and Mexico will help America to keep up in the numbers game.

Deport illegals that commit crimes and go after employers that hire illegal labor, and definately don't give illegals amnesty. They gave amnesty before and it didn't work out because the gov't didn't fulfill the promiss to control the border. Why should we believe them now when they say they'll protect our borders AFTER we give 12 million amnesty. If we eliminate the reasons they come here, less will try to illegally immigrate to the U.S. and many that are here WILL LEAVE. Not all the 12 million are going to stay here in the first place, especially if there is a crackdown on their employers.

The problem has to do with enforcing existing laws ... but in a different way.

The problem isn't "middle ground" - the problem is CREDIBILITY.

When we have a government that refuses to enforce EXISTING laws, does it matter what they write up in the new bill?

  • Even if the bill said DEPORTATION AND FINES, the public wouldn't believe it until they see it.
  • Even if the bill allocated $500 billion to build a fence, the public wouldn't believe it until they see the fence.
  • Even if the bill said NATIONAL ID CARD, the public wouldn't believe it until they see it.
  • Even if the bill had a $100,000 fine for hiring illegal workers, the public wouldn't believe it until they see it.

The public outcry over this bill is a clear sign that the public doesn't trust the government (regardless of party) to enforce laws ... so they don't even listen to the debate ... and they won't until these morons can show that they will actually do something.

My solution:

Every illegal immigrant has to serve for 2 years in the US Army (or Coast Guard, or Navy, or Air Force) ... even if its clerical work.

A lot of good points from various people. This immigration bill just shows once and for all that what the people want we don't get. I know that in reality there is no way to find and deport the estimated 12 to 20 million illegals in this country. Before we pass anymore bills we need to

1. Enforce the border now! Whether its a fence, more agents, military, volunteers, whatever, just do it.
2. How do these people obtain drivers licenses? I know there are plenty of people who drive without them but this needs to change. Even if its some kind of national ID card.
3. Start heavily fining employers who hire these people. Cheap labor equals cheap work in my opinion. The way they build some of these houses nowadays is a joke.
4. This North America Union is a joke. January 20, 2009 can't come fast enough.

I really believe that there a quite a few illegals who have come here and are hard working people that would fit right in. What I don't like is that many of these people are criminals and nothing in the bill weeds them out to send home. We need to somehow deport all of these felons back to Mexico where they belong. I believe that our federal prisons consist of about 32% of illegal aliens who have come here and commited crimes.

Lastly, I DO NOT WANT TO PRESS 1 FOR ENGLISH AND 2 FOR SPANISH!!!
