They just interviewed the Twins fan that caught Frank Thomas 500 homerun ball.

The fan gave the ball to a white sox representive in exchange for a signed Frank Thomas signed ball, bat and jersey and maybe a photo op with Frank after the game but that will be up to Frank they said.

I would have put it on ebay, isnt Thomas suppose to be a jerk?

He is. It'll be interesting to see if Thomas will be smart enough to realize that it's a good pr move to do a autograph session with the fan. He just might because of the occasion.

Stupid move, I guess not everyone needs or wants to cash in...being Frank Thomas I wouldn't have given it back for less than market value...would Frank Thomas give something away for nothing, doubful.

It was funny they said maybe he could have his photo with Frank after the game that it is up to Frank. The fan should of been making the demand of what he wanted.

I would hope Thomas would give this guy 20K worth of merchandise, I sure would have if I were Thomas.

Ball's worth: 30-50k

Im sure he will regret it later you think fans sitting in the outfield would have told him to tell the white sox rep to bring the checkbook not a signed ball and bat.

Thomas should of had time to meet the guy since he was ejected for arguing a 3rd called strike call by the umpire later in the game.

Im a little puzzled here but why would you do this? Give the ball to a white sox representive:think2: I thought Frank played for the Blue Jays.

No way, you have to double that estimate at least..

Eddie Murray's 500th went for $280,000 at auction in 1999 and then a Baltimore buisnessman bought it for $500,000 in 2006.

I can't see their value being that much of a difference (30-50k compared to 500k).

I'd say he would have at least got low/borderline six figures off of it. What a fucking moron.

Wow, $500k for a 500-homerun ball. Who gives a shit about 500 homeruns without any record attached to it.

Someone paid 2.9 million dollars (plus a 10% buyers commsion) for McGuire's 70 th homer run ball. The guy (I think it was the Marval comics creator) said he bought it and paid such a high price because he felt the record would stand for a long time. Bonds broke it 2 years later with 73.

2.9 million...as if a god had hit it.

Another instance of the lower and middle classes bending over and offering their asses to the upper class god-like athletes who they worship so much. Weak.

The guy shouldn't have given the ball back, or anything else. He bought his ticket, the asshole hit the HR and a lucky fan cashes in a small lottery ticket. That should've been the end of the story, not some insulting, CONDESCENDING dogshit offer of a jersey, signiture and fake-friend photo that Frank may or may not take, depending on his humor. Joke.

Marvel Comics was founded in the 30's.

It was Todd MacFarlane - he created Spawn.

Frankie Thomas

Big Frank jumped in the Tram (in Vegas) just before the doors closed, and nearly knocked me on my ass.. I kinda muttered to myself 'watch out asshole' as I turned around to see who did it, and Big Frank (who is really really big) actually apologized

If someone paid 2.9 million for a HR ball hit by McGuire, how much would a home run ball hit by Jesus be worth?
