all yankee haters are celebrating. i went to the met game at shea last week. a huge ovation started as they flashed the yankee loss on the scoreboard, followed by a long, sustained "yankees suck" chant. all in the middle of the game.
met fans are rooting harder for the yankees to lose than for their 1st place team to win.tired of playing 2nd fiddle.
are the yankees done? 10.5 out, getting shut out on a nightly basis. are they burned out fatcats or do they have an amazing comeback in them? wdyt?:smoker2:

Not done. If they continued to play good ball they would be 4 or 5 out right now. Instead they lost like 7 of last 8 vs mediocre teams like Colorado, Frisco and Baltimore. More than 1/2 a season to go, 86-88 games. Sox starters showing a little weakness so there is hope. They need to get to 500 first though. Chuckle, Chuckle.

****In case anyone has been in a cave check out Funk's posts on the Sox and Beckett in particular. The man defines HOMER. Funny but unreal. A must view for those who like entertainment.

Stop picking on me!

In all seriousness, I dont count the Yanks out until the math says so. 10.5 is jack.

Becks is my fav player right now, I make no secret about it.

if you lose consecutive series to colorado (who arent bad), the giants (who suck), and the orioles (who suck), i think it speaks for itself... they are as dead as dead can be...

The Sox just got swept by a hot Mariners team.

I wouldnt worry. The Yanks caught fire before, they can do it again.

NYY has the best offensive line up in baseball. If they get some SP going 6 and 7, they will be more than 'tough'.

Agreed, I said before the Baltimore series that I would still have hope if they could take at least 2/3 @ Camden Yards (where they've always been good). Pitching matchups as Pettite, Clemens, Wang which is pretty much our 1 2 3 starters, and they've lost the first two.

Those that are positive will say they're only 8.5 out of wildcard with 80 something games left (gain 1 game every 10 games), but if you've seen this team it's not happening.

rob, i love how people say they have the best lineup in baseball, i just dont see it... lets recap

damon (hurt and probably past his prime)

jeter (stud)

giambi (done for the year probably as a yankee)

matsui (not the same player since the wrist injury)

arod (stud)

posada (good year, figures a contract year, they will overpay and it will be a dead contract in two year just like damon)

cano (looks like a one year wonder to me, would rather they trade him to atlanta for saltiamacchia or however u spell it)

cairo (the yanks first baseman, are u kidding me?? and hilenbrand is not the answer either)

cabrera (no better than a fourth outfielder definitely not a starter)

abreu (done, he sucks, period)

so what is this great offensive lineup the yanks have??? they are average at best at this point in my opinion...

all yankee fans need to realize that its over (actually its been over since 2001 if you want my opinion) going to playoffs year in and year out and losing in the first round should tell you something?? i love the yanks but im a realist and one that knows its over until they start going back to the glory days (developing some players and mixing them with good vetern leadership) but those days look like they are LONG gone...

Funk is just trying to light a fire in Yankees fans, because it's not as fun arguing with people when they agree with you (in this case, Yankees suck).

Detroit is obviously the best offense in baseball. Not only average wise (.292), runs scored, hits, doubles, rbis, slg...but the most important stat, situational with runners in scoring position they're a ridiculous .336 (second best team in MLB is Mariners at .291)

Good post fuc. See you do not have to resort to nonsense in your posts. You have a brain. Now someone talk to SkinsRaj and that will help.

How about HR's Fuc? Who is doing what? That is a huge stat and not just because it is the Home Run. For many years the team that hits the most HR's usually do very well.

Until that stops happening, the Yanks will always be the top dog no matter how many games back they are. That never happens at Yankee Stadium, even when the Red Sox lose, because Yanks fans don't give a shit about any teams not wearing pinstripes.

Like a famous pimp once said, If you don't have any haters, you're not doing good enough. If you have 5 haters right now, you better try to get 10 by the end of the year, or you're not doing good enough.
