for the #5 (they would have the 2 and 5). Delonte West and Wally Serbiak (bad spelling) included to Seattle.

Good trade for Celts even though Allen and Pierce are similar.

Just reported on ESPN as a strong rumor.

I'm hoping it happens (although we need to get Robert Swift or something else in return, as Allen is still do 50 mill).

But on the FSN pre-draft show...their foxsports reporter in NYC is saying that there's not much to the rumor...and not much 'chatter' on the floor about it.

I hate Wally w/ a passion...any deal w/ him leaving, is a good one.

How many Ray Allen type years does he have left?

These draft picks are usually pot luck anyway....So they get Durant and who knows, maybe Horford? they both look like solid players in the NBA at the very worst.

After Durant though, #3 to #11 is anyones guess , not much difference in talent or potential talent....Conley at #3 seems very risky.

Celtics would have two injury-prone shooting guards who need the ball, and would have to rely on Rajon Rando to get them the rock.

Boston will still suck.

That trade would also pave the way for Ridnour to go to Atlanta for the #11.

Allen and Pierce are not similar. Paul can drive and pull up to score and Ray can flat out shoot from anywhere. Defensively yes they are similarly soft.

Celts will suck regardless. They CANNOT stay young. Allen is 32 though and is getting old and injured. Interesting though because they do not give up a lot and get a potential all star. I like it from both teams perspective. Do not give up Jefferson.

Definitely both ball hogs! Pierce could get assists if he wanted to since he is all over the court and double teamed half the time when he stops his dribble. Go Eagles!

Dumb for Boston, Allen is getting old

Would make Seattle seriously legit though pretty soon

Seattle might not be done...rumors been floating since yesterday about moving Ridnour to Atlanta for the #11.

Certainly seems more feasible now, since West can/will run the point. Sonics can add another piece with the pick.

They'll also probably move Lewis before the offseason is over.

Good to see Seattle be proactive.

It is a good move because ALlen is on his way down and wants the ball too much. They will have a good young nucleas as well as the STUD in Durant.

Don't like it. Will work out like when Sixers added C Webb with Iverson. Bad trade for C's.

Danny Ainge is awful. I don't think Allen cares about hoops anymore, and with him being in a city like Boston (many NBA players hate this city) and having to give the ball to Pierce, all motivation will be gone. Danny Ainge couldn't manage a three person crew at McDonald's, nevermind an NBA franchise.

I don't mind the move...reasons:

* Ray Allen gives the celts another wing scorer...which they've been missing.
* Wally is simply HORRIBLE...as well as maing $13mill/season.
* Delonte West is what he was...not much more upside, imo.
* Losing the draft pick is where the 'sacrifice'/'risk' is...but if they did utilize the draft pick, people would argue that they are too young. Now people are arguing that Allen is too old...both sides of the fence would be played regardless.

agreed Ainge has done a poor job plain and simple...mainly because he has all youth. He needed some veteran presence and never got them. He did make a few good moves though.....but overall not good.

Ainge pisses me off! Being that they were not going to get Oden or Durnat I was hoping theyd grab Jeff Green. They do and they TRADE HIM!!!! Ray Allen will be good for celts for 1 year and that will be it and they will be lucky to grab #8 seed if other east teams regress. Meanwhile Seattle will be in the finals in 2 years.

Only silver lining here is if somehow Sean Williams is available that far down - it's a stretch and unlikely but.. otherwise this is a terrible move. Scerbiak, who cares, but West is a fine player and won many games for them in his first few years.

Sean Williams will be the surprise of this draft. Within 2 years his offense will come around and as a rookie he will contend for defensive player of the year if he gets playing time. Better D' than Ben Wallace in the middle, maybe not as strong a rebounder.

So why does ainge avoid all the vitriol that other's have had flung at them in Boston? I wasn't crazy about his being appointed and nothinghas changed my feelings, he's terrible!
