My daughter just flew them from Vegas to Colo. No problems, but they are definitely a no-frills airline. You pay for all drinks and snacks and I think they even charge a small fee if you want to reserve a seat in advance.

With that in mind, the price was right and we would use them again.

Thanks

Thanks, they even charge 3 dollars a bag, 8 dollars for 2 bags. Trying to get around the seat reservation fee now.

I looked into them, they basically only fly to Vegas and a few Florida cities, but you can fly out of ( and back to) a good number of other cities, none near me. No flights between cities like Colo Springs and Portsmouth, NH. You have to go to only about 4-5 places.

Its a great airline. Have flown them to Vegas a couple of times. No frills to say the least-- but decent seats and take a nap.

..

They are starting service from greenville-spartanburg south carolina to vegas in august this year;>>should be more convenient and save about $100 or so round trip over competition..

But everyone emphasizes: No Frills

Airlines like this are great unless a flight gets canceled or delayed.

If weather is bad, small guys like this have very little power at the airport and wait forever. Likewise, if a plane gets stuck, they have no more flights for a day or two.

They are great 90% of the time and if you DONT HAVE to be there. If you time is very valuable and you need to be somewhere, they can be a problem through no fault of their own...

When I am flying for fun, I pick the cheapest. When I must be somewhere I take American since American has 100s of flights each day out of MIami and has another flight to just about every city 2 hours later...

Their fleet is MD-80s. Ancient planes. I would feel nervous flying on them.

I have a friend who flew on Spirit and his flight was cancelled. They won't put you up in a room, you get no food vouchers, no cab vouchers...nothing. SOL. They just put you on the next flight, in his case, 24 hours later. He was passing through Orlando, so I put him up for the night, but if you get stuck in a strange town, anything you saved on a lower fare will be blown of lodging and food if your flight gets cancelled. My friend was pissed that they wouldn't even waive the $10 a bag fee. There was another guy that went berzerk I was told. There was knashing of teeth.

5Team,

I had never heard of them until my wife found them this week. She's looking at sending one of our boys up to Greenville/Spartanburg to spend some time with her folks. One of her friends (who lives here but grew up in Greenville) uses it all the time.

She's looking at flying him out in a week or so. I'll let you know.

I've flown them 2 or 3 times from Bellingham, Washington to Las Vegas. No frills but OK on a moderately short flight. I believe the planes are MD-83s and the ones I've been on looked pretty good, especially compared with a Spirit plane I took from San Juan, PR to Fort Lauderdale which looked to be 25 years old from the state of the cabin interior.

Even fly in winter from that location but would be more wary if flying from the Mid-West or East for possible weather problems.

I have a friend that flew from Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Vegas and he had no problems. I think it was only like $149 round trip.

Allegiant

I just took a flight from Green Bay to Vegas this past week on Allegiant.. Had to pay $10 per person extra to reserve seats, and $2 per bag, and $$ for snacks and stuff..

I've used this airline 3-4 times in the past year with no problems.. Definitely recommend..

Watch out for the cross-dressing flight attendants though!!
