Regardless of your political point of view, why do people root for either party, like it is the Yankees or Red Sox.

My point, nobody cares about anybody. You vote for a dem or rep they both are crooked sob's. I am sick an tired of people acting like they are concerned with the people they represent.

If we really want to find out how much politicians care about us, let's see how they vote if all lobbying groups were outlawed. They are the biggest problem and influence over Congress and the Senate.

I don't care if you are conservative or liberal, you can not honestly say you endorse these crooks receiving financial support from such lobbies as the pharmaceutical industry( I work in the pharmaceutical industry).

I agree, unfortunately it's become more like rooting for your "favorite team" as opposed to policy positions.

I'm a Republican because I tend to agree with their positions as stated in their campaign platform(s). However, once they get to DC, it's all watered down.

I also disagree with the campaign issues of substantially all Democrats on a national level.

I don't believe most elections are decided by issues or platforms, but by the 10 second sound-bite. The catch phrase that can fool as many people as often as possible.

There are voting blocks out there that vote for one party 90% of the time, and that's fucking pathetic.

There are differences in the Party's. Certainly my value's are Much closer to what is supposed to be the Republican values (I agree they've lost their way some..especially with spending).

But...being registered allows you to vote in your parties primaries so why not "pick a side"?

As far as voting, I probably vote 65% Republican, 30% Dem and 5% other.

There are some that are in favor of Federally financed elections and in effect getting influence money out of the election process. I think it's an isssue worthy of being probed.

There is no diffrence between Hillary and Guilaini, both lying lawyers who are pro homo and baby killers. Both on the take from the papacy and world bank. Both want to destroy America.

When a person labels himself/herself into Republican or Democrat, that person just bought into the bullsh*t ALL government is selling to the people.

Its a distraction. Make the people choose sides so they can fight amongst themselves and never attack the REAL problem....THE ONES IN CHARGE!

I'm a conservative.

Therefore, I currently vote for more Democrats than Republicans.

I agree with the responses posted.

The best example of the double talk that Congress represents is:

Democrats are saying we should have not gone to Iraq, why did you vote for the war, afraid to look as if they were not supporting the President and the war on terror.

Now Republicans are saying to get out of Iraq and saying we have stayed to long. They don't won't to get hurt next November.

The entire thing is bullshit. Say whatever you like, but my perception of intelligence and representatives are similiar.

People with intelligence are not only supposed to help themselves, but assist those that are not in a position to make improvements for themselves. Representatives are supposed to do the same thing. You are considered to be a person in power with the ability to make a difference, not ensure that your pockets get over inflated.

Recently I went to DHL to drop of a package and this guy was there wanting to apply for a driver position. The lady said you need to go to our website, but I don't know if that will help because the drivers are hired and employeed by a third party. The guy was going to get back into his car. I went out and told him go talk to one of the drivers here, they can tell you who you need to speak to. He said thanks, I never thought about that. I took 10 seconds out of my day to help, did not hinder me financially or my time in any way. That is what Congress is supposed to do.

If the area you represent is conservative and you promised people that you are a conservative vote that way. Same thing if you are a liberal. Don't promise people something and completely back track on it.

Look at the BS Congress did with the internet gaming bill. If anyone voted against it, then in the next campaign it would be said that your congressional rep is against the safety of this country and pro-terrorism. It shit like that that has to stop.

Sorry for the sermon, but I am just feed up with people who are struggling to make it getting, hard working Americans who continued to get raked over the coals. My wife and I would be fine if we lost our jobs, but many Americans would be about 2 weeks from being homeless. That is the job of Congress make things better, because you never believed that the average American could, that is why we have the electoral college.
