You know, the more I think about it, the more I love this under in the Braves game. Carlye shut the marlins out last time he faced them on 1 hit, and Willis has been hell on the Braves.

What does that mean? Are you referring to Mil reemergence? Like in they`re back.

Never really felt like they were down. I knew they were for real even during there slump. I just think they have snapped out of it now.

Hi Chop

Thanks for your picks,i was just wondering about this game in particular
since i was leaning to bet on the tigers myself and was happy to see you
chosing the RL in that game, however when i went to look at stats i saw
the following;

JEREMY BONDERMAN vs. MINNESOTA since 1997 BONDERMAN is 2-6 when starting against MINNESOTA with an ERA of 6.17 and a WHIP of 1.660,His team's record is 2-9 (-7.4 units) in these starts. The UNDER is 5-4. (+0.9 units)

So in light of that are there any 2nd thoughts or i should have not even asked?sorry if you have made your wager already, not trying to challange you or anything, just seeking experienced bettor opinion, since i am new in the block, hope you don't take it the wrong way.

Thanks.

No problem. Thats a good question.

I dont go back in time nearly that far when it comes to baseball stats.
Most of the seasons that Bonderman has been in the league with the exception of this season and last season he has played on 100 loss teams with no bullpen.

Here is one of my little tricks that I use to cap pitching stats. I only use the current season thats in progress, and the 2 seasons before that.
Then I take out the worst start during that time for each pitcher. Sometimes a pitcher will have real stinker and inflate the stats to look worse than they really are.

Imagine if you have a pitcher against a certain team that gives up 2 runs, 1 run, 3runs, 0 runs, and then has a game where he gives up 8 runs in 3innings.

You look at the stats at face value and if you dont dig deep enough, you will have the false perception that he is a bad pitcher against that team.

Any pitcher for DETROIT you have to be carefull. Especially people like Bonderman who was there when the Tigers were the worst team in baseball.

Yea but look at those numbers?

The game he gave up the 7 runs was hes mulligan game.
The other 2 games he only gave up 3 and 2 ER in those games.

He pitched well, and BTW. The Tigers were playing some really bad baseball during all 3 of those starts last year. The Tigers really feel off the wagon after the allstar break. Almost missed out on the playoffs altogether after having one of the best 1st half runs in recent memory
