uppy: doc, I'm relatively new to my this way of betting. I have to admit that some of it is pure luck. What I'm getting at is that I don't know if betting the -1 line is worth it since I don't have enough historical evidence to either support or disprove it so I've mostly been going with the ML. Yesterday I went with the -1.5 RL with Boston because it was at something like -250 for the ML. I'm going to continue doing it this way and later will do some analysis to see if the -1 line is worth it.
4-1 so far today. Let's hope this Detroit team comes through for us tonight.
Thanks Michelangelo, but I went through a similar circumstance last year in soccer. It seemed like the games were finishing up just like they were scripted and I had somehow found the key to the script. I was up 80 units on plays of 1-10 units each after a couple months. If you take an average of 5 units per play that would be like being up 16 units using 1 unit plays.
Needless to say I lost all 80 units in a matter of weeks. One thing about gambling and that is there is oftentimes a wide variance. You can do really well one week or month and completely flop the next. So it takes time to prove a good system. Don't forget that this system was at 14-13, -0.39 after the 1st week. I've tweaked it a little bit so hopefully those changes have been for the good.
I'm rather concerned about after the All Star Game. The game changes after that as teams call up players from the minors. In September, some teams quit and rely upon supporting players to see how they are coming along. In other words, I'm afraid the way I'm betting now may not be a good way to bet in later months. We shall see.
