I just heard this idiotic announcer say "If Chestnut wins it will be the greatest feet in American sports history." What a complete and utter moron.

Maybe it hasn't caught on in Europe, but this event is bigger than the Super Bowl over here.

Joey is a great american hero.

You think it's possible that I may be an American living in Europe? I know how big it is in the states.

They just lose their damn mind during this thing.

I guess we can file it under the "Guess you had to be there" category.

It's some great entertainment, but wow. They could watch Paris walking out of jail and try and tell us that Jesus has risen.

ESPN.com news services

NEW YORK -- Joey Chestnut won the Nathan's Famous hot dog eating contest, edging six-time champion Takeru Kobayashi 66-63 as both men smashed the event and world records in the process.

Kobayashi, who was said to be suffering from jaw soreness, came from six dogs back early to close the gap with a few minutes to go.

But Chestnut, who set a blistering place early, held on and brought the mustard yellow championship belt back to the U.S.

Kobayahi held the previous event record of 59

Was so great because Kobes was down 6 and tied it up. The run down the stretch was exciting.

Boss

You must have been really fuming when the announcer said 60 hot dogs was equivelant to a 3 minute mile.

There was more excitement in that event then all the post season NBA games combined
