In my prime I was betting sports in a dozen sport books playing a dozen casinos a month and grinding out poker profits...

i now bet on sports relatively recreationally thanks to our free country.. but no reason to go off on that AGAIN...

I simply wanna know what all of you guys are doing these days...

I assume most that are betting online do not care about the gambling bill OR are not just simply not worried or afraid of it....

not really what i mean... i do not think there is any reason why anyone should be "worried" about betting online... to my knowledge it is still not illegal for me to place a wager on the internet.

the reason my "earning" has gone down the tubes is the demise of neteller and +EV opportunities...

my question is are people who take this seriously still playing in casinos, grinding poker, shopping soft lines or are they doing anything else on the net to profit...

sorry if i was too vague..

Ironically when I started to consistently win and take this real serious, the bill/law (whatever you want to call it) came into effect. I have been able to grind out a healthy profit in the past 10 months but not sure I can go to another level without upping the risk factors at some many different angles.

I have played at a VERY serious level everyday since last september and have done very well. The thing that obviously sucks is moving money is somewhat more difficult. I think football will be the worst because of the once a week games there wasnt an ungency to get down qucikly when numbers moved and I was able to middle quite a bit of NFL plays last year.

Not sure how badly this will effect my bottom line in the NFL this fall as I just dont have as much loose money floating around offshore. It gave me a good chance to play around with some things which I may not be able to do now.

To answer your question alot of it is attitude and just realizing how much better it is than 15 years ago and hopefully the worst days are behind us. Most of my strategy involves betting square lines at square books and so far no problem at these places (knock on wood) but you have to be extra careful in this current enviroment at these places. I use to be in 12+ books and now I am half of that or less but they have been very useful.

Just started delving into poker the past month and much like sports there has to be less fish/squares out there right now so that sucks but it looks like society has accepted poker as a skill and lawmakers are a lot closer to legalizing this and getting more people involved in the game, which should be huge when this happens.

Just trying to stay positive (espically when hanging out at Western Union lines, LOL).

Took a job.... Too unsafe to have a lot of money offshore these days.

I am considering reupping for football only at books that don't take US customers...

I'm in the exact same boat as you doc. I used to make a small profit in poker, whore all the casinos for low to mid five figures in 2006, and whore/straight bet with sportsbooks before the bill was passed. Now poker is too tough (for me) to make meaningful money, casino whoring is dead, sportswhoring is dead so I'm mostly just betting sports recreationally. Land of the free my ass.
