.... for 2007, that is?

he's been 2006 papelbon-esque so far this season. 4 earned runs the entire season. 2 earned runs in the last two MONTHS? a 43/7 strikeout/walk ratio? cant remember the last time teams got a good threat going against him. this cat throws gas and doesnt fu.ck around with hitters. gotta give this guy big time props.

Dude's about as filthy as my ass right now. Shit and god knows what else all caught up in the hair and whatnot.

He's been great, and he's been put in tough situations in the 8th inning and gotten the job done. Gotta respect what he's done this year...hope he doesn't burn out, though.

Id still prefer Hoffman with the game on the line.

Gagne is also slowly but surely regaining old form

Prodigy,
What do you think of Indians/Tigers tomorrow? Total at 8. Eddings behind the plate. Thoughts?

roux:

i like that tigers game under; however, i have some hesitation when it comes to playing it big because i am always leery of getting too involved with a game right before the all star break. there is that outside chance that one of the two aces could be a little 'off' tomorrow. incidentally, it wouldnt surprise me if peavy were to have an uncharacteristically subpar outing against the marlins despite being a massive chalk. i dont mean to imply that i am capping on a hunch but i have just seen a lot of really dominant pitchers come up with mediocre outings in their last start before the all star break. but in a vaccum, its hard to see that cleveland/detroit game being anthing more than 4-2 or 4-3. especially with this one being a day game after a night game to close out a 3-game set.

One nobody talks about

Saito. 23 of 24 saves, 1.30 era, 45k's and 3 walks. Yes I said 3 walks.

People thought the dodgers were crazy letting Gagne go (including me).
Guess they knew something
