File sharing sites in trouble (post #1)
I'm sure you all know that Napster & Kazaa have been long dead but there are tons of alternatives that stepped up to fill the void. Looks like the alternatives are in trouble too.
www.Demonoid.com as been down for days. they claim it's due to hardware issues but anti-piracy groups say otherwise. they are back up today but I'm not 100% sure that everythings cool.

www.TorrentSpy.com &
www.ISOHunt.com are both in legal toruble with the MPAA. To appease those assholes, they will be filtering out illegal content.

www.OiNK.cd was forced to move countries.

the feds, the music industry, and the movie industry have all been following torrents and logging IPs of people downloading their watched files. every time another site gets busted, they get stronger. Peer Guardian is the one tool thieves can use to block them.

Morpheous is working but is now filtering out all illegal files.
all of the working WinMX clients are filled with adware & spyware. same with Bearshare. i believe they work but you can't find anything and they track your web activities.
www.Miivi.com is one of many FAKE file sharing sites setup by MPAA to trick you & track you. Not only does it track you trying to download stolen material thru their bullshit client but it also scans your computer for stolen files you got elsewhere.

eDonkey was shut down but i believe alternates like eMule are still running. I haven't tried it in over a year so i'm not sure what's going on with them. I just know that after edoneky got shut down, it just didn't feel safe.
I don't know anything about
www.Limewire.com but at least i don't know anything bad. people seem to like it. same with
www.Shareaza.com
On a side note, judges have rules that file sharing software itself is legal. the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Los Angeles said on Thursday that peer-to-peer software developers were not liable for any copyright infringement committed by people using their products.
