I was hoping someone more experienced in Excel could help me figure out how to do some analysis for football.

Suppose I have every team's weekly performance ATS for 2006 on a separate worksheet. I would like to find out how a team performed when they are coming off an ATS win, AND their opponent is coming off an ATS loss.

How should I go about setting up the data for this analysis? What function(s) should I use?

Any help would be appreciated.

Get my e-mail address from a mod, send me your data and I can see what can be done with it. I have done this kind of work for academic research involving wagering markets, so setting up this kind of test should be relatively easy depending on how the data is arranged.

Sort by Team1, by Date.
Create a new column "Last ATS result" and make its cells referring to "ATS results" cells in the PREVIOUS row (the one above).
Copy that whole column and then "Paste Special..." -> Values into very same column.
Repeat procedure above for Team2.
