i suppose you could debate smoltz vs. hudson.

but regardless, i cant remember the last time two aces have just been throwing glorified batting practice. sometimes one pitcher will lose it while the other is on cruise control. but penny and hudson are both godawful tonight. walks galore. 2 out run scoring hits allowed. the pitchers have combined for 3 hits in 4 at bats. this is a damn slow pitch softball game. no lead is safe and there are runners all over the bases every half inning.

Sabathia vs Verlander this afternoon ... both gave up a HR before the 1st pitch was thrown.

agreed, they BOTH got rocked. Maybe it was the air or some distraction.

14 runs kinda pisses on your ERA a little, but can't pitch 1.38 EVERY game.
