Continue to fade the D-Rays?

By now way, shape or form am I suggesting to play this game, but why would the D-Rays open up as -120 road faves?

I don't care if it's the Royals, at least KC has some dignity, but how could one in it's right mind lay -120 on the road when one has lost 11 straight, a lot of them in embarrassing fashion I may add?

It's a no play for me, like you say, Perez is in the lower 20 % of all the MLB starters, but I can't bring myself to play TB.

shields is a stud. easily one of the most underrated pitchers in all of baseball. his record won't jump out at you but his strikeout/walk numbers are gaudy. his last 5 starts? 36 Ks and 1 walk. thats not a typo. now having said that, he has been prone to some bad innings. he's still young. but he is the type of pitcher than can completely shut kc down. funny thing is that i think -115 or -120 for shields is a GREAT price to back tampa. i wont go anywhere near the 3/4/5 starters of tampa. they are an absolute joke. but shields is very solid.

also, 7 of the 11 losses came on the road against cleveland and boston. dont get me wrong, 11 losses in a row is awful. but the competition has been stiff. they played cleveland VERY tough in all four games. they laid down against boston, no doubt. but im still convinced tampa is one level ahead of the royals.

Yes you would hope with either Shields or Kazmir the next few days that the Rays will break the string of losses. If not those two starts then when? Problem with this is it's not just the starting pitching that keeps them from winning. Their bullpen sucks, they don't hit well and they are one of the worst fielding teams in baseball. I had a small lean on KC (+106) and pulled the trigger but I see this as a toss-up, just taking the small home dog here.

Only thing that worries me about KC now? They love to use Greinke for multiple innings. If I were Boston, Detroit, or Cleveland I'd make a play for this guy before the trade deadline. He is better in the bullpen than basically anyone on Cleveland and most on Detroit's staff.

Iwamura is a left-handed bat and he sucks.

Got a small, very small lean towards KC, but even if they just win half the time it's a moneymaker if you are getting a + price. A toss up where you lay -140 is stupid of course, a toss up where you are getting +106 is fine. See the difference? Good luck.
