IS it fair that North Dakota, So Dak, WYO gets same amount of senators as California with 30 Million people. When Wyoming only has 30 000 people?

On to Little Leauge,

Is it fair that Wyo and Utah get Western regional representation after wining 3 games, when SoCal champs have to win 20 games?

Maybe its time to have a Southern So Cal rep and a Northern SoCal rep, and have Wyo and UTah state champs play each other for a SanBernadino bid, that way they have to win 4 games instead of 3 games.:discuss:

Yes it is fair. Forgot to mention that the House of Reps are based on population, so California gets far more seats than the Dakota. Called the System of Checks and Balances.

Not to be a smartass but the system of checks and balances refers to the three branches of government; executive, legislative, judicial. Has nothing to do with # of reps.

You're thinking of the Connecticut Compromise or Great Compromise which created the House based on population and the Senate as equal representation.

Wyoming has about 475,000 people.
Before Congress, Senate, etc. etc. gets involved with how many games a particular region has to win, it should concentrate on eliminating aluminum bats and go back to wood, before another 11 year old gets injured.

Wood bats just as dangerous with at LL Level with flying dagger of a broken wood bat.

These kids are very close to adulthood at 13.5 in most cases.

Another goof is Hawaii in the West now, because Wyoming crybabyed there way to the Northwest region, becaues they didnt like taking beatings from So and No Cal. so they move Hawaii from NW to West.

We saw in Omaha how the West had the 4 best teams on the bottom half of draw, well X that by 10 at the Little Leauge level.

I had words with the Western Regional President last year, we dont like each other to say the least

Didn't realize Wyoming is such a crybaby.
The wood v. aluminum bat issue is getting hot and heavy.
There is only one one real valid study, and that shows the balls catapult at an alarming higher rate higher that wood.

Last time I checked, Hawaii was closer to the West than the Northwest.

Looking over the LL rules I see now there is a step above Majors (age 11-12)........ when I played we went right to Pony League at age 13 and a 90 foot diamond which was ridiculous IMO....this just may have cost me a baseball career....damn.

there are two different organizations, one goes straight to major league dimensions for ages 13-15 and the other has an intermediate league for 13-14 that is like 54' pitching and 75' bases (I think those are the dimensions).

Is it fair that when voting for President of the US, a person's vote in Virginia counts less than a person's vote in New York or California?

actually it is the smaller states that count for significantly more on a relative basis than the larger states. eg, 300k voted in AK for 3 electoral votes, on a relative basis, that counts more than twice as much as CA NY or VA

That's one way to look at it. But you might check with Al Gore to see if HE believes in all votes are equal. Seems he lost the electorial vote but any way you count it--he WON the popular vote. Not saying I'm a Gore fan--just a fan of all votes are equal.

The cutoff date for Majors all star elgibility is May 1, 1994, it was August 1 but they changed the rule.

Another thing I would liek to see changed at the SanBernadino regionals is that the San Bernadino Police would not bore is for 12 straight nights again with their useless K-9 exhibition.

I like Orel Hershiser the person, but I am forced to put the mute on when he is broadcasting. Harold Reynolds is greatly missed.

Another stupid rule is the 85 pitch count that goes into effect this year. Too much babying of the kids IMO. 100 would have worked just fine. I threw 143 as a 14 yr old 1 time.

that is a different issue, one I can't say I disagree with. There are many things that could be done to correct the presidential election process. One would be to have the primaries on one of two of three days. As it is now, one county in Iowa essentially determines who will run and every proimary after South Carolina is virtually irrelevant. Completely unfair.

Secondly, electoral votes should either be done away with entirely or given proportionally to the candidates.

I think I threw over 200 a few times. I know one game when I was 10 I threw a no-hitter, struck out all 18 guys and still gave up 7 runs without a ball being put in play. had to be way over 200 in that game.

Of course, I forgot to mention I developed tendinitis in my elbow when I was 12 pitching in literally every game I played that year and ultimately destroyed my shoulder by the time I was 18. So go figure. Doesn't always pay to have a good arm.

When i played it was Aug 1st, we had no league above 'Majors', right to 90 ft diamond, it sucked and really hurt development..

This pitch count crap is exactly why we see most pitchers in MLB not able to throw past 100 pitches 7 innings anymore....

Is it a good thing? I doubt it....who knows maybe it does prolong careers of the majority...the complete game has almost become obsolete.

it is also the reason most of the guys with real cannons are latin american and not american. Kids don't throw enough any more to strengthen their arms. Latin American kids play and throw all day, all year
