I don't think this is a slump any more. This team can't hit. Delgado is probably on the downside. Can't figure out why Beltran and Wright aren't hitting though.

They might need a new hitting coach.

Because 162 games is a longggg grind. its more of a psychological thing than anything else. All it takes for a hitter to struggle is a small problem with their mechanics that they dont even realize. The hitting coach's job is too look for these things over and over again on tape and work with the hitter when struggling.

They haven't hit like they are capable for months . I guess the same question can be asked about the Yankees. No excuse for that lineup to put up at least 4 runs a night.

Yanks screwed me today in extra innings, and I have a feeling the mets are going to do the same. New york teams just suck!

• In 2002, the Yankees hit 223 home runs, second most in the American League and second highest single season total in franchise history.
• The Yankees led the majors in batting average in each of his first two seasons as a hitting coach (1993-1994)...In 1994, the team's batting average of .290 was the highest Yankees' average since 1936 (.300) and the highest in the majors since Boston hit .302 in 1950.
• Helped guide the 2000 Dodgers to a franchise record 211 home runs.
• Led the 1996 Orioles to a then major league record 251 home runs in his first season with the club.

The guy seems to have a pretty decent record

Mets take the lead...

Mets with a little rally.

Now I need the Phils to do the same. Just get out of the inning first, then rally.
