Car Experts Needed Inside

Okay I am looking to buy a new car and have a 2000 audi s4 70,000 for $14,000 or a Bmw 325ci coupe 80000 for $12,000 both in excellent condition. Now I know the s4 has more power but I think I am willing to sacrafice some power to get a little bit of room in the drive seat and newer car and save a few $$. Is it just me or is the audi s4 very small?

basically just an a4 on steroids

is this a daily driver or what?

a4's and a6's had alot of problems...325 series is solid. both look sharp.

just sold my 325.
maintenance is ridiculous on that guy.
Next service was going to cost $800, after they wanted to fix some BS problem for $1,500.
On top of the $200 they wanted to charge because the door seal adhesive wore off (which I fixed with some rubber cement for $5).
Screw BMW's.

I'll never buy anything but a Japanese car ever again.

the problem with these two choices is they are both teetering on the proverbial "cliff" of rapid depriciation, and maintenance costs because of their miles.

Personally, I would rather pay a little more, and get the German car with 50 or 60 k on the clock........OR get one with 100k for about half the money. Most (original) owners of these cars do the maintenance, so find one with records,and have some peace of mind.

If you go for one with 80k, and then do the upkeep, AND put 25k or 35k miles on in the next 24 months, you will have a car (if kept clean) worth about $5,000, and a tough sell at THAT .

These type cars appeal to a very limited market with high miles, and these are both approaching that threshold already. be careful!

You should not get either...you will get raped on any service work.
