I lived in a single wide for a year and a half. Owned by my stepfather - actually it was abandoned by him, and he wasnt really my stepdad since I was already in my 20's so I didnt consider him any relation to me - but he did marry my mother and move into her house and I took his trailer.
I still miss looking out the front window at the 2 blonde sisters across the street who would wash their canary yellow mustang in their cut off jean shorts and bikini top while I drooled until their boyfriends Trans Am would roll up and I would go back inside and think what the fuck am I doing here?

Edit: I actually meant that to be a joke, but when I think about it, it's probably more prestigious and appreciated in social circles than those who live in trailers. Skeet.
I left that trailer to move to California. The day after I moved out, the park bulldozed the trailer because it needed a lot of work and they wanted to rent the spot to someone with a double wide. I did go back to see it flattened, it took about 30 seconds to crush it. All I have left are the memories:
I owened a double wide in Vegas about 25 years ago that was really nice, three bedrooms, laundry room, nice big kitchen with all the utilities, two full baths, fullly air conditioned. I even had that lava rock yard laid down over plastic visqueen that is basically maintenance free. The funny part was that the space rent of the trailer park (West Trop up past Jones) was higher than the mortgage which was around $120 a month. I wish I had kept it.
