They aren't his teammates. His teammates are Mariners.

First of all, his "teammate" Putz was on the mound. Secondly, if Seattle thinks they are a contender, wasn't he curious as to whether home field might be his or not? Lastly, his teammates for tonight was the AL. Where the heck did he need to rush off to?

It's an EXHIBITION game.

but "this time it counts"

As an oddsmaker, wouldn't you now adjust AL teams' odds of wininng the W.S. accordingly (Bos, Ana, Cle, Det) now that they have homefield. Doesnt seem like the offshores do that as many left the odds up during the game and hven't changed them

Mild change in odds. But seriously, that has to be the last thing on the players minds at that point.

what I found confusing was the girl who was interviewing him was asking him questions and he didn't answer any of them?

Example; Girl asks if he knew his inside the park was the 1st ever in All Star History and right now the Ball is on its way to the HOF? He says Yes it was great that was my 1st inside the park in my Baseball Career and I really had a great time?

Another was about what others talk about here, Girl asks....Do you feel an advantage coming down the stretch knowing if Seattle wins they will have Home Field Advantage in the Series and He replies yes San Fransisco is a great place and I really enjoyed my visit to this great city? DUH and the question was....

Unbelievable

ICHIRO BY THE NUMBERS

.359 Batting average at the All-Star break, the second-highest mark in the American League (trailing Detroit's Magglio Ordonez) and the highest first-half average of Ichiro's MLB career (previous .357 in 2002).

61 Runs scored this season, placing him on a pace to score 116, which would be the second-highest single-season total of his career (127 in 2001).

128 Hits in the first half, the most in the majors, putting him on pace for his seventh consecutive 200-hit season.

23 Stolen bases (he's been caught only twice), tied for third in the American League, and four shy of the league lead.

.410 On-base percentage in the first half, the highest of his career.

5 Number of hitting streaks of at least 20 games, including a 25-game streak this season (May 7-June 1). The total is tied for the second most 20-game hitting streaks in major league history. All-time hits leader Pete Rose had seven 20-game hitting streaks -- in 24 seasons.

6 Consecutive seasons with more than 200 hits, the most by any player to start a career. He is on pace for 244 this season.

sad times. Sports is significant contributor to inflation nationwide.
But try telling multi-million players that.
Or die-hard fans.

You guys forgetting how shitty ichiro did in the beginning of the season?

Ichiro is the man, who gives a fuck what he has on.
He could have accepted that trophy in a thong and nobody would have said shit
