Alex Rodriguez won't be interested in negotiating with the Yankees during the season, agent Scott Boras told the New York Post.
"We are not going to be negotiating during the season," Boras said. "This is Alex's decision. This has been his policy, and I fully expect this to continue to be his policy." Boras sees A-Rod becoming the game's first $30 million player. The Yankees could give him an extension for that kind of cash, but it'd only make sense for them if they did it before he opted out. If A-Rod becomes a free agent, the Yankees would lose all of the money the Rangers are sending over to help pay for his contract. Jul. 12 - 11:56 am et

I also just heard on the radio...Scott Boras went into details about the A-Rod contract. I gotta say, Boras is a goddamn genius...I want to find the actual link to the article, but the wording in the contract entitles ARod to a 'minimum' $32 million/season for 2009 & 2010 - if they do opt out, after this season.
Like I said...I wish I can find the article but the wording in the contract is nothing short of genius.
$32 million/season...WOW
