Just wondering if when you listed pitchers on these two if you only listed Halladay and Miller?

I can possibly understand Wakefield, but although it almost never happens . . . say that Felix gets scratched from pitching tonight, don't you think that you would only lose value on Miller if you still wanted to make a play on him'which I can't see why you wouldn't if you like him against Felix)? With Hernandez being the best pitcher on the team and Det only being a +120 dog, I am sure that if Felix did get scrathed Det would become the fav.

See where I'm coming from?

the line consist of both starting pitchers.

I do not want to be at the mercy of the linemakers if felix would have gotten scratched. No telling what would happen at that point.

If I used your thinking basically what I would be doing is betting on Detroit and Miller 100% of the time when they play the mariners no matter who is pitching for Seattle and no matter what the line is for that game.

PS:

I hear that when you do bet action, you always end up getting the worst of the worst lines when the sportsbooks make there adjustments.

I disagree here with you fully. If you would have listed Miller only then there is no doubt that you would have not had a chance to get a better line then +121 that you originally got on Miller. Of course you aren't playing 100% on Miller, but you can't honestly tell me that if Felix wasn't pitching and you could have gotten +121 with Miller against any one of their pitchers- NOT THEIR ACE, that you wouldn't have loved to have that line.

Basically, I am just saying that I am 100% sure you would have made a play on Miller +121 against ANYONE other then Felix if you liked him +121 against Seattle's Ace.

I never said, "No matter what the line is"

My point is that there is no doubt you would have been sitting with a better line if Felix didn't pitch. This is all irrelevant, but I think its something for you to consider.

Kruser, your going to need to check your rules. If I list just Miller and felix does not pitch my line still gets adjusted. If it was Batista for instance, I would have gone up to at least -130.

You dont get to keep the same line just because you list MILLER. The line changes as soon as you get any new pitcher. Even if its not the one that you list.

Why take action when you can rebet the game and shop around if you choose to bet the new line?

If I did like the new line with the new pitcher, im free to rebet the game at any sportsbook I want.

It makes no sense at all to list just one pitcher.

Im not going to get +121 if Felex does not pitch. Even though I only listed MILLER.

ChopTalk's description is, of course, correct.

An easy way to state and remember the rule is that the sportsbook ALWAYS has the RIGHT to change the money line with ANY STARTING PITCHING CHANGE with the exception of LISTING PITCHER(S). LISTING only converts the bet to NO ACTION when there is a change in a starting pitcher.

In MLB, you can NEVER lock in an actual ML for a game that isn't subject to revision on a starting pitching change (except very rarely, it is possible to have no starter specified).

Always check the individual sportsbook's stated rule, because the rule above applies to almost every sportsbook, but not necessarily to ALL sportsbooks.

One reason to LIST only one pitcher is if the other pitcher (the one NOT LISTED) is subject to change, and you trust the sportsbook to make a fair adjustment and want ACTION even if there is a change in the other pitcher. Also, presumably, when the "new" line is available, it may be inconvenient or impossible for you to re-bet it.
