What the fuck are you talking about man? He replaced Rick Down who never even made it to the majors as a player. Most hitting coaches are just fat bitches with a job description.

Yeah, what does Rickey know? It's not like he's a surefire hall of famer, or the greatest leadoff hitter in the history of the sport or anything like that...

Still an odd choice. He was supposedly in the clubhouse with Bobby Bonilla playing cards while the Mets were losing Game Six of the 1999 NLCS. I think thats how most Met Fans remember him.

No.

He's been a Mets special hitting instructor for almost 2 years and has worked primarily on Jose Reyes's development.

Not official yet.
Either Howard Johnson or Rick Henderson will be named new hitting coach, the only thing that is offical right now is that Henderson has been promoted to full time coach.

if he gets hired, he will find a way to make the hitting coach stint a springboard back into the MLB as an 80-year old lead off hitter

He already has that going on, if it's still game. I thought I heard the A's were going to let him play a single game this year so he could retire in Oakland.

Could be wrong though.

Like billhill, I listen to WFAN, even though I'm in Florida. Fuck Florida. Fairfeild County, holla.

When I found out WFAN had finally started streaming online, after almost a decade of broken promise, I was absurdly happy. I listened to Steve Somers with a big stupid grin on my face for an hour.

There's so much nepotism with hitting coaches. It seems 2/3 of the teams have former stars as hitting coaches. Good players don't necessarily make good coaches. Why don't you see the same thing for pitching coaches or managers? They're not former stars from the same team with nearly the same frequency.

I think that has to do more with great players not wanting to waste their time managing, whereas, shit players still think they have something to prove. I just think there are more shit players in the coaching business than good players.

Again, I could be wrong. I'm really retarded right now. And, I can type fine, proving once again the "HAY GUYS Imm DRNk" threads are either stupid or I'm immortal.

What's stopping you.
Tampa is a hell hole.

Bridgeport isn't exactly an island with a palm tree either (no offense, I know there are really nice parts). It's give and take for me, either I really miss New England or I'm glad I'm in Florida. It's a fucked up inner conflict, probably need to see a professional.

I'm in one the nice parts.
Right on the Fairfied border, one block from Brooklawn Country Club.
