Chase series system for 2nd Half of the baseball season*

I am doing a chase system for chasing teams in a series betting they don't get swept. I believe I will win on this easily. Seems like easy money but I guess we'll have to see.

My starting BankRoll: $2000

I will bet to win $100 on the first game, then to win $200 on the 2nd game of the series and so on..

It won't be counted as a loss until the team I have gets swept or wins a game.

All Lines will be at BetJm at the time I post will be the time I got the line.

Lets make some cash.

Not saying it's going to lose, I've wanted to experiment with that as well, and since you're being selective with the teams it should make this system even more effective...I just know that in the back of my mind I worry about that 3rd-4th game and how much would be on the line potentailly.

Chase systems are always tempting to try out. The problem with it is that fluke series sweeps happen. Royals over the Angels a couple weeks back for example. You laugh before the first game starts that a chase would be profitable, but then you end up losing all your profit if not more when that fluke sweep happens. You just have to be really selective in your series you are chasing. Good luck with this Jasin.

Jasin..interesting system. I pose this question: Why not try this system (basically betting against a sweep) with the dog? For example...The Reds will be a dog in all 4 games vs. the Mets (imo). The Rays will be a dog in all 4 games vs. the Yanks. Toronto and Detroit might not be dogs in all 4 games in their respective series' vs. the Red Sox and Mariners..but they'll be close to the pick line...my point is..why put yourself in a potentially high risk situation in games 3 and 4 betting the chalk (as Dsethi mentions) when you could basically bet the Reds (Dogs) as follows: $100/$150 first game, $100/$120 (or so) second game, $200/$300 (or so) third game $300/$450 (or so) 4th game...not making much money..but chances are the Reds get at least one game in this series. I think the same arguement can be made for the Rays, Jays and Tigers...they should all get at least one game in the series. I like the system...but the chalk could potentially choke you.

Several years ago I used a chased system that was focused on Favorites. It ended up being a disaster, Seattle swept anaheim in anaheim on the final game play was something like $2200 & the ttl lost was $3000. It was a four game series and I bailed out after game 2 but my buddy rode it out and lost his entire roll. He quit gambling after that - which is probably good for him. I tell this stiry b/c I think there are better chases out there in baseball and they can defiantely be just as if not more profitable.

1. The dog chase series is awesome been talining at guy at another forum and am up 40*

2. Personally I have been doing a O/U chase system once again in another fourm. BUt after 2 weeks - 4 series I am up 36*.

I guess some other posters will scoff chasing as not real handicapping and only done by scandicappers. But you can't argue with the results & you do have to handicapp a series and try and understand which way to play it, after game one the home work is done and you have more time to enjoy summer.

Your picks look good for this week but becareful of that juice! Dsethi made some good points as have others

FWIW - All plays to win 1* - Typically half the plays win in Game one & then are completed by game 2, I have had 3 out of 40 plays go to game 3. Twice I have won game 3 & once I bailed out on game 3 & was glad I did as it would of lost so I only lost 3* on that series insted of 6*

Cinncy/Mets - Over
Yanks/Tbay - Over
Oak/Minny - Under
Det/Sea - Over

Jays/sox - pass but lean over!

d ~ yes that's how it works. my goal is to win 100 on every series. so if mets lose the first game, I bet to win 261 on them the next game and so on.

Thanks Addict. I have a couple things in mind on what teams I'm going to be selective with and whatnot.

I guess time will tell. I'm actually kind of excited about this because I always wanted to try and "system" but this kinda involves both a system and my picks. So we'll see. I would love for it to work and everyone could follow me and make some decent money, but if it were that easy, I guess it would have already been brought up.

So that's why I'm starting with $2000, I figure with betting 1 "unit" to win, that should be enough to see if this will work or not.

Just a note the Mets are -165 again tomorrow. So if you lose tonight you have to wager $437 tmr to win you $100 plus your $165 back.

I heard about the dog chase in this forum about 2 weeks ago, so I assume it's ok to mention it again. It is posted by jkaul at statfox.

and as far as other chase systems, cappersmallhas one that is up I think over 150 uniuts this year. ryhenry does that one.

or you could just stay right here at the rx and follow carolina and dsethi ("he sucks") and make a bundle.

did you try this out in the first half on paper or what?

If you are trying to win 100 every series, you are going to have to bet to win 261 if the Mets lose/lost tonight. Not 200....If the Mets lose three straight (you will run into a team like this sooner than you think) thats going to be over $1200

Game 1: line is -150...you lay 150/100....they lose
Game 2: line is -150...you lay 375/250...they lose so you've lost 525
Game 3: line is -150...you lay 937.50/625...they lose, you've lost $1462.50

then if there is a game four you don't even have the money to finish it out
