Work is crazy these days and I don't have as much time to do writeups unfortunately, so I'll have to leave some things out. Not as many dogs as I've been playing lately, but I think there's good value in the favs I took.

Red Sox -112: The Sox are 14 games over .500 at home this year while the Jays are 8 games under .500 on the road. The Sox have also played great against the East this year and I think that trend will continue against Halladay, who the Sox have already seen 3 times this year. The Sox have always had some success against Halladay, and he gave up 13 runs and 25 hits over 17.2 IPs in his last 3 starts before the break. Wakefield has started turning it around and has won 4 straight at home. I'll gladly take the small amount of juice here. 1.12 units to win 1.

Yankees -136: Shields hasn't had much success against the Yankees, and the D-Rays are playing horrible baseball these days, having lost 13 of 14 before the break. Pettitte has owned TB over his career, going 11-1 with a 3.19 ERA, a 1.34 WHIP, and a .265 BAA against the D-Rays in 17 career starts (6-1 with a 3.09 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, and .262 in Tropicana).

Orioles -122: Jeremy Guthrie has quitely had an extremely solid season, putting up an impressive 2.74 ERA, a 0.91 WHIP, and a .207 BAA to go along with 72 Ks against only 18 BBs. And I think that will continue against a weak Chicago offense. Garland played great in the first half, but I can't help but think he'll start to come back to earth as the second half gets under way.<SCRIPT><!--D(["mb","1.22 units to win 1.\u003c/div\>\n\u003cdiv\>*\u003c/div\>\n\u003cdiv\>\u003cstrong\>Tigers +126: \u003c/strong\>I see this one as a coin flip at worst, and think we're getting*a much better team as the dog here. Jibba only game I am riding with today is Baltimore..

Update: The knot that Garland felt in his throwing shoulder during the spring continues to be an issue, the Chicago Herald reports. That said, Garland said it doesn't hurt and he expects to start the White Sox' first game after the All-Star break. Recommendation: Garland's last outing was pretty painful though, as he gave up 11 earned runs in 3.1 innings in Chicago's 20-14 loss to Minnesota (that's the Twins, not the Vikings). Garland said the knot makes it harder for him to loosen up and reduces his velocity. "Definitely doesn't feel 100 percent," Garland said. "To me, I think it's something that's going to be with me for the rest of my career, so I either learn to pitch with it, learn to deal with it or I'm done."

gabbana,

Glad to hear you like the Tigers.

ETG,

Thanks for the info on Garland. I'm certainly willing to ride the O's here and hope that a) Garland is still not himself, b) even if he is himself, he was never as good as the numbers he was putting up, or c) Baltimore comes out with the bats at home tonight as I have been expecting them to do for some time.
