I did some research on the games I bet. I wanted to find the difference between betting 10 point differences and 10% line difference. These numbers are based upon changes between the opening line and the line bet by me. I did not count the bets that had line movements greater than 20 points as I may not bet those in the future.
Greater than 10% move-
Faves: 18-10, +4.35
Dogs: 9-8, +3.36
Greater than 10 points move-
Faves: 30-15, +7.98
Dogs: 12-11, +4.47
I think one of my biggest mistakes was betting teams that had a 10-point move regardless of where the line started. I haven't put the numbers in but it didn't look good. It could be because I started doing that later and the teams with line movements just did worse during those games.
