An opinion on the early game. I like the Astros at +165; they hit Carlos Zambrano pretty hard. Luke Scott (.571), Mark Loretta (.300), Carlos Lee (.343), Mike Lamb (.250), and Craig Biggio (.275) should help knock him out early. Meanwhile, Alfonso Soriano, Aramis Ramirez, Derrek Lee and Jacque Jones are a combined 7-of-36 (.194) lifetime versus Jason Jennings.

* Jason Jennings (R) is 1-1; 3.66 ERA; 1.42 WHIP; +1.9 Units on the road.
* Carlos Zambrano (R) is 3-5; 5.14 ERA; 1.43 WHIP; -7.5 Units at home.

Prediction: Astros +165.
1 Unit.

Cubs -1.5, Im taking the plus number with the hot pitcher. Im not going to play off the prior stats. The Cubs win this game, and Ill take the plus odds.

6-2 Cubs.

I'm on the Astros +1 1/2. The Astros have owned the Cubs at Wrigley the last couple of years and they do hit Zambrano well.

Do you guys not see that this Cubs team is totally different then the team that you are spurting stats out with. The Cubs have been riddled with injuries the last couple years, and have had a compleltly anemic bullpen. trends are relevant when the teams are similar, but there is no Pierre, Neifi, Cendeno, Jones, Barrett, or Murton on the field today. The team is different and the result will be too. Even if you want to bring to the table stats that were at the beginning of the year, this team is totally different from that too. Lee kills the Cubs always, but Ill take Z against the rest of these cats anyday. Good luck to everyone.

I've got the cubs at -1 1/2.
Z has been pitching very well over his last 3. 2.75 ERA and 1.1 WHIP.
Also the Stros are 2-8 in games where Jennings starts.

Zambrano is 4-0 with a 0.46 ERA in five starts against Houston since the start of last season, allowing three runs and 15 hits with 36 strikeouts in 39 innings.
In his only start against the Astros this year, he allowed one run and three hits while striking out eight in eight innings of a 2-1 victory on June 11.
"It seems like whenever he pitches against us, he doesn't have any problems finding his "A' game," Houston's Lance Berkman said after that loss.
he's 5-2 with a 1.75 ERA in seven starts since June 6. The right-hander is 2-1 with a 1.17 ERA in his last three home starts, and in his only defeat in that stretch, he took a no-hit bid into the eighth against San Diego before losing 1-0 on June 16.

Houston has the league's worst road record (15-28).

Cubs ML -175

Lineup is loaded with guys who can smash righties so I don't see Jennings having the best of outings. Z is on fire as of late, gimme some of that.
