Thinking about giving it a shot but don't know anybody out there to do it. I know there are people out there that have a good reputation and have been doing it for a while but i can't find them.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Also, Are there any contests being run out there this year similar to the Hiltons for Ncaa?

I have a best friend that lives in town and he is living on ramen noodles right now.

Not that he's homless or anything he works for an airline.

Just the % he's paying is to high priced and he's living beyond all his means.

So make it worth his while and he'll run for you I'm sure.

Harrah's will be running a similar contest. I'm out of the loop, but they did it last year for the first time. Not that I would recommend giving them your business though.

thanks QL & JB, I'll be proxying again for the hilton, caesar's(nfl) and leroy's(college) contests again this year. Many are still unaware they can enter with a proxy living outside of Nevada. The hilton will start accepting entries in late July. I'll do an annual post with rules...etc...as I do every year as they become available. Hilton & Caesar's is 5 games a week against the spread. Leroy's is 7 games(college) against the spread.

a proxy is someone who is entitled to put in picks on another person's behalf...legal and usually a base fee for service then a small % of winnings if the player cashes any winnings.

I have two good proxies if you need one. What everyone charges is $200 or 10% of your winnings.

The three big contests in town are the Hilton, Caesers(if they run it again) and Station Casinos.

Get a mod to give you my email address. Remember, you have to be there to sign up your proxy by the end of August or the beginning of Sept.

Dave Tuley who used to write for the DRF used to do it. I don't know what he is doing now but he would be a good one if available.

I used to have a friend who lived across the street(Las Vegas Country Club) from the LVHilton. He turned in our 5 picks weekly for around 10 years. One year we tied for third going 2-3 the last weekend.

Will be back tonight with more detailed info, some contests come and go but these are the ones I proxied for:

Caesar's $2000 entry -- 5 picks a week against the spread, deadline was 1 pm Saturday's unless you play a Thursday game, all picks had to be given by Thursday.

Hilton $1500 entry -- 5 picks a week against the spread, deadline friday 1 pm unless you play a thursday game then all pks have to be in by gametime thursday. Max 1 entry under one name.

Leroy's $250 entry -- 7 picks a week against the spread, deadline 5pm friday, they improved the game menu to offer almost all games(ie 50 games) Many has expressed a desire for totals and they offer some time to time also on the menu and will probably expand the choices further. Max 3 entries under one name.

Do you have links to these?

Jim Feist usually has a link to the Hilton and Station contests but it's taken down at this time of year. All it would show is the picks and results for each week. I'll try an post the link.

Your right it is 6 for the Caesar's contest. Station contest is the only major one I know that incorporates the nfl with some college choices.
