I didnt realize that the Browns had THAT tough of a schedule this year. If they split with Pittsburgh, I think they go 5-11, 6-10 AT BEST..

I love Miami Under 7.5 wins big time. I think they may be the worst team in the NFL this year.

Horrible head coaching hire
Horrible first round drafting decision
Best WR picked up for DUI
An aging Trent Green is one concussion away from the team being seriously screwed

Also, there is no way in hell Green Bay finishes below Minnesota and Detroit.

This is like the 5th thread asking the same question, yet it never gets old discussing it. God I can't wait for football to get here.

Give me:
Cleveland Under 6 (dont see any way that they finish better than last in the division - will be dogs in all 6 division games)
Denver Over 9.5 (Easiest play on the board - Love the additions of Henry, Bly, and Moss...combined with Cutler being a year older I like them to win the West)
Green Bay Under 7.5 (2nd easiest. Have the talent of a 4-12 team. Schedule more difficult this year)
Tennessee Under 7 (pulled how many wins out their ass last year...and lost some key players...defense is mediocre at best, awful at worst)

I'm a die hard day-to-day Giants fan. You can use this information in any way you want.

Everyone believes that losing Tiki Barber will automatically erase at least 3 wins off of that 8-8 total the Giants had last season. The RB situation is underrated and WILL overachieve. Everyone says that Brandon Jacobs "has never proven he can carry the load". Watch some game tape from the first game against Washington or against Tampa Bay last season to see what he can do as a tailback in the open field. With 15-20 carries a game, Jacobs will be able to carry the load. This isn't a 5'9 185 lb RB we are talking about here, this is a 6'4 264 lb RB. He got instruction in the off-season from Eddie George, and will change his running style now (get his pad-level low and stop impersonating Earl Campbell) that he is in feature back role. Reuben Droughns was a great pickup for injury-prone WR Tim Carter. He has rushed for 1000+ yards with 2 different teams and will spell Jacobs beautifully. 7th Round Draft Pick RB Ahmad Bradshaw will surprise people and could easily slip into the "change-of-pace" role after what Tom Coughlin called an eye-opening mini-camp.

At WR the Giants are loaded. Plaxico Burress is a headache but an outstanding talent who has the attributes of an elite WR in the NFL. The loss of Amani Toomer was evident last season as Giants fans saw how much of a safety valve he really was for Eli Manning after he went down with injury. A healthy Toomer means a healthy passing game. 2nd Round Draft Pick WR Steve Smith emerged as the top newcomer and will be a superstar for the Giants in the near future. WR Sinorice Moss is finally completely healthy for the first time since becoming a Giant. The Giants sent him deep early against Washington and Philadelphia late in the season, and the threat of his speed helped stretch the field leaving openings in the intermediate levels for Plaxico Burress. A healthy Moss means a stacked WR corps.

TE Jeremy Shockey put on 10 pounds of muscle mass and was quoted as saying that he would not leave until he brought New York a championship.

The OL returns veterans in Shaun O'Hara, Chris Snee, David Diehl, Kareem McKenzie, and Rich Seubert. Diehl has officially moved over, after much speculation, from LG to LT to replace the released Luke Petitgout. In the 2 games Diehl started at LT last season he settled in after a rough start, and with watching the game tape it appears a successful transition for 2007 should be expected. RG Chris Snee will be a Pro-Bowler this season.

The DL is so stacked that talented 2006 1st Round Draft Pick DE Mathias Kiwanuka was officially moved to SLB after the 2007 Draft. With Michael Strahan talking to the media about how the team needs to win now, and how this has to be the season, and so on, I have a feeling he'll be back on the level we expect him to perform at. With Osi "Chief" Umenyiora already going on the record that he will break the single-season sack record I am looking forward to watching the bookends play this season.

The LB's will be new around veteran MLB Antonio Pierce. SLB Mathias Kiwanuka showed what he could do in coverage with 2 interceptions in limited action last season. We'll expect some possible growing pains, but Kiwi is such a talented athlete you can expect him to do the things Giants fans expected Arrington to come in and do last season. One of the most underrated signings of 2007 Free Agency was WLB Kawika Mitchell from Kansas City. Mitchell is solid and all reports so far are a successfully transition being made from his old position of MLB to WLB.

New Defensive Coordinator Steve Spagnuolo will bring with him from Philadelphia an "attack" style defense. This makes the drafting of bump-and-run specialist CB Aaron Ross a perfect fit. Until Ross unseats veteran Sam Madison, expect Madison to team up with Corey Webster as the starters in the secondary. Under old Defensive Coordinator Tim Lewis's "read-and-react" defense, Webster suffered, but all reports are that Corey has had a great off-season and should be a bright spot in the secondary. FS Will Demps was never fully healthy until late in the season, and the difference in his play showed. SS Gibril Wilson was resigned and coaches sat him down and had him watch game tape of his rookie season, where he had a breakout year and played on instinct instead of the overthinking we've seen him do over the past 2 seasons.

All in all, one must look at the Giants as having the talent to be one of the top teams in the NFC. The Giants opened the season at 6-2 last year but suffered season-crippling injuries to Michael Strahan, Osi Umenyiora, Amani Toomer and Luke Petitgout. I know this is no excuse since injuries are a part of football, but the loss of Toomer and Petitgout was too much for Eli Manning to handle, and the loss of Strahan and Umenyiora was too much for an already weak secondary to handle due to the loss of any sort of pass rush.

The turning point from which the Giants never recovered last season happened here. The 6-2 Giants held a 13-3 lead at home with under 2 minutes left in the 1st Half against the 7-1 Bears. On a 3rd and 22 play, deep in their own territory the Chicago Bears called a give-away play, a screen pass to Thomas Jones. Somehow, DC Tim Lewis had the entirely wrong defense on the field, and the Giants, caught out of position, gave up a long gain and a first down. The result of the drive was a Bears TD and Chicago carried the momentum into the 2nd Half en route to a 38-20 win and a future Super Bowl berth. The Giants dropped 6 of their next 7, including blowing a 21-0 lead in the 4th Quarter at Tennessee after two unthinkable 4th Down conversions by Tennessee. One, where Vince Young was stopped yards short of the marker but was slammed unnecessarily out of bounds causing for a free first down, and the next, where Mathias Kiwanuka famously let Vince Young go after wrapping him up for what should of been an easy and game ending sack.

This is a lot of information, and you can do what you want with it. But with their key players healthy I really feel this could be another playoff year for the Giants.

Say what you want about Eli Manning but in 2 full years as a starter he has lead the Giants to their first back to back playoff years since 1990. He has brought them back when it seemed all hope was lost in famous fashion in some of the best games in Giants history against Dallas in 2004, Denver in 2005, and Philadelphia in 2006. He also drove the Giants down the field to tie Philadelphia in the '06 Wild Card Playoffs on the road when all the momentum was on the Eagles side, until the defense let them down on Philadelphia's final drive. Manning is getting a rough deal based on the way in which the trade occured that brought him to New York, the actual fact of playing in New York, and the success of his brother. But I expect him to really assert himself (he's already sold me) as being the leader of the New York Giants and have a successful (for him) 25-15 TD-INT season and lead the Giants to a 10-6 record.

Good for them that they have Buffalo in their division.

BILLS OVER 6 WINS... +100

I think this Buffalo team is going to surprise some people. I know they lost Clements,Fletcher, and Spikes but Fletcher and Spikes were getting old and they got the kid from Penn State [SIZE=-1]Posluszny and Crowell who is solid. Clements was a stud but the kid they drafted from Ohio State with the 8th pick last year Donte Whitner showed me a lot last season. I love the Marshawn Lynch pick and think he will fit real well with JP Losman and Lee Evans. Lynch is going to be used in a Marshall Faulk esk role catching the ball out of the backfield and Lee Evans is emerging as a star in this league. If they could get decent play out of wr#2 I think they will be tough. JP Losman looked like he was more comfertable in the 2nd half of the season last year and it showed in his play. I think hes going to turn Buffalo into a Winner. Buffalo wins 9-10 games and squeeks into the last wild card spot.

So exactly how did Green Bay improve themselves?

I didn't say Green Bay necessarily improved. I said they will do better than the Vikings and Lions. GB was the youngest team in the NFL and finished 8-8 last year. They didn't make any improvements but they didn't really lose anyone irreplaceable. And yes I include Ahman Green in that. The Packers have a young improving underrated defense. If Jennings comes back from his ankle injury, their receiving corps will be fine.

The Vikings have less offensive talent than the Packers. Tarvaris Jackson?

And the Lions still have Kitna under center.

I can see the Packers going 8-8 or 9-7 and the Lions and Vikings will be back to double digit losing seasons.

a lot of great info in your post, im a life long redskins fan and watch a ton of giants games also. i just think this division is so tough and they usually beat each other up so its going to be difficult for any of the 4 teams to get more than 8 wins in my opinion. to me and i hate to say it, the cowboys are the class of the division, eagles as long as mcnabb is healthy could contend and then you have the giants and skins. 8 wins at best for skins and giants in my opinion and for both of our sakes i hope im way off and they both get 10 wins.
