With the new laws are many of the people here from Florida getting in on the act? I've heard over at 2+2 that now the max buy in is 100 (when the laws first came it was truly no limit.

Apparently even with the max 100 buy in the play is so bad people are doing well. I will be in tampa next week, gonna check out the HR and maybe the sarasota dog kennel. If anyone wants to meet up and drink a beer before hand lmk.

Freind of mine runs the Sarasota kennel and he has been disappointed with the turnout, but did say play is weak.

The problem I have heard about the Sarasota Kennel is they charge a timed rake which nobody likes, if they would just do the standard rake off each pot I bet it would get many more players.

Only reason i'd go their was if I was bored and its close to the siesta keys

I am biased as it is my friends room, but I like the timed rake as it is MUCH cheaper than what these other places are doing. One is charging per card that is flopped.

Well, at the big rooms like HR they are doing it like almost the entire poker world is doing it, 10% with a cap, no drop no flop. 5 dollars every half hour is robbery man. 10 dollars an hour to play, WITH 100 max on a 2/3 NL game. Insane.

If he has any control, tell him he needs to A. Drop the timed rake and do it like most everyone else. B. Make it 1/2 w 100 max, 2/3 for 100 max is also kinda dumb.

In florida, most casinos are doing 1/2 NL with max 100. Thats the state law. Some places are doing 2/3 NL w/ 100 max

I'm making a trip there (Hard Rock) tomorrow night for the first time since they've added some games. I'll give you the deal about the poker room after.

I played HC last week on Monday and Tuesday night. 1-2 NL 100 max buy in seems to be the only NL game they spread... I had a good time both nights....

I plan on going up there every Monday and Tuesday as long as I can get off work on time...

1-2 NL.....He's always wearing a yellow Iowa hat, so you really can't miss him.....I just asked him if he is going to play there tomorrow, and the response was "probably not, because I am going to be here all night."......he will be at Derby Lane tomorrow more than likely playing!

Won about $3300 in 4 days.

go to Derby Lane instead, and look for the only woman in the Gallery Lounge playing the ponies....and he will be playing poker. Its a nice poker room...you played there before??

No. I live in DC but work in FL (orlando / lakeland) during the week. I doo not know FL at all... Where is Derby Lane?

It's in St. Pete....only about 30 minutes from the Hard Rock.....very nice establishment and easy to get to as well.... You should come check it out sometime, and let us know when you do. We're there on a daily basis, and we can all meet up.
