Guy may be the most worthless player in baseball but he improves the Cubs...

Never did get the love for this guy though... No speed or power just a singles hitter who isn't fast enough to have an impact on the bases.

imo, kendall's claim to fame will always be the gruesome injury he suffered back when he was with the pirates. thats quite the indictment of a playing career when people remember you more for an injury than your playing ability.

Gruesome is the absolute perfect adjective to describe that injury.

Or horrific. They're interchangeable.

I think this is a great move by the Cubs. He is a career .298 hitter who is struggling this year but maybe a change of scenery will do him good. If he can hit close to .300 and play good defense that would help the Cubs a lot. And yes he did have a good amount of speed for a catcher.

something only a homer could say. If anyone can hit 300 and play good defense it will help any team out. but he wont and im damn sure of it. I heard talks of the A's trying to ship Kendall off but didnt think anyone in their right mind would trade for him. Well happy as can be as an A's fan right now as a fellow Hawaii boy steps in to catch. O yah Kurt Suzukis not an automatic out with zero homerun potential either. thank god. He matched Kendalls HR total in 2 years in like 10 games.

I reread my post and "happy as can be" doesnt do it justice. ecstatic seems much much more appropriate.

SUZUKIS HAS FINE POTENTIAL, AND I BET HE ALREADY BROKE ALL HOME RUN RECORDS OF THE LONG LIST OF HAWAIAN CATCHERS.

was that supposed to be a diss? 1st off it still doesnt make kendall any better than his horrible ass already is. Secondly I dont think I ever stated players from Hawaii were ridiculously good or will be good even though victorino is 10x better than jacque jones. horrible trade and thank you Cubs GM. You made an A's fan very happy...overjoyed

p.s. the caps lock definitely added flavor and emotion to your intelligent post

Smartz when I say it was a good trade for the Cubs im not saying it was a bad trade for the A's. I think it was a good trade for the A's. They got rid of an aging Jason Kendall who isnt playing up too his contract. So they will lose some of his contract but besides this year he has been a very reliable catcher both offensively and defensively. He is a career .298 hitter which is very impressive. I am hoping he turns it around but either way were not giving up much. Bowen is a backup catcher and the pitcher we are giving up has put up sick numbers in the minors this year but hes not a top prospect or anything. Good trade for both teams

and i'm glad your a happy camper.

caps are just a habit, did'nt mean anything by it.
