Best place to give a car to? How do they value it?
Someone told me they only give you what they actually sell it for as a write off.

If it still runs, give it to me.

If it doesnt, and it's pretty old, look on craigslist for someone to come tow it away and give you $100 for it.

every state is different, some give blue book others give what it sells for. also, some states limit the write-off depending on which form ( long or short) you file.

why would he sell it for $100?
If its worth say $5,000 and he wants to donate it, he can likely get a tax receit worth that much. Much more valuable than $100. Plus, its a good fucking deed.

The Salvation Army.

I see signs up all the time where they ask for your car. Nice thing to do (IMO).

Worth more BB than I could get: '97 REGAL GS Supercharged (170K miles) newer body style.

Could only sell for maybe a grand MAX, A/C not working, gas gauge not working. LOOKS good from the outside.

Bought a new car already, I have a good accountant and he is good at writing stuff off.
