The Indians may be bringing longtime leadoff man Kenny Lofton back for a 3rd and final time....

It would be Lofton's third stint in Cleveland, but this time he'd likely either start in a corner spot or serve as fourth outfielder, because he's not pushing Grady Sizemore from center field. "We're trying to get better," general manager Mark Shapiro said. "The galaxy of players we're looking at is about a couple dozen at a variety of different positions."

40 year old Lofton who has 619 career SB's is having a fine season in Texas and would be a great pickup...even at age 40 he's on pace to steal 30+ bases and bat over .300 and can still play the OF....he currently has a .386 OBP

Really hoping he would come "home" to Chicago since he is from East Chicago.

I might be in the minority here but the Indians really dont need Lofton here.We have good CF in Sizemore and where else would you play him at.Also he causes problems in the clubhouse and the Indians dont need that at this time. The Indians need the following to boost their team afor the playoff drive and here is what they need:

1) Bullpen help (I would take Gagne or Otuzka of the Rangers)
2) A bigtime bat in the lineup between Martinez and Hafner that plays in the outfield. (Griffey would look very nice in this spot)
3) Another starting pitcher (Jason Jennings would be a guy i would try and probably get him cheap)

If Im Mark Shipro this is what I would go after but he wont trade off our prized prospects to do this.Keep Lofton off this team I dont want him here.We need the above before I would get Lofton but only my 2 cents worth.
