I have a Bank of American cc with a balance of $3500 . If you were to do a balance transfer right now, which credit card companies are offering the best deals? Which ones dont have a bunch of hidden propaganda behind them that screws you end the end? Just want something straightforward and honest.

I was looking at citibank diamond.

thanks fellas'

They all have relatively good deals depending on your credit score and situation. Citibank, Chase, and Discover are all good. Most will offer 5.9% or even 3.9% for the life of the transfer and the rate holds true unless you are late sending in a payment.

As someone said above, the offer you get will depend highly on your credit score (FICO, Beacon, etc). If your score is high enough, most card companies will give you 0% for up to a year, however there is often a 3% courtesy fee associated with the transfer so your $3500 transfer would cost $105 (added to the balance so you'd owe $3605). I'd either start calling the major card companies or check out their websites, the card companies are very competitive and love to get new business....

Good luck

Call all your CC companies and ask them to give you a deal. Like purchasing a car, you can wheel and deal. They can also remove the balance transfer fee which can be 5% of total transfer or $75 - make sure you ask for this. Its nothing more than a click on their part. The avg deal is like 0% for 6 months or 3.99% for 12 months + the fee.

I've worked for MBNA, I used to hook everyone up pending on how I felt that day.

be careful if you go with chase. been with them many years and they had a special several months back 3.9 for life of loan so i moved everything to them.everything has been going good for the last 6 months or so and today i just so happened to notice my new payment due date had been moved up about 10 days.never had changed in 7 years.

these sorry bastards are hoping i don't realize and will be late so that they may change the interest rate to the default rate.

that is one sorry drink of water

CHASE is becoming very aggressive on changing policy and jacking interest rates. They used to be good but they have become stupid. I will be canceling my two platinum cards with them.

I know this thread is old, but I think it's important to note for anyone considering WAMU that they just posted their 2nd straight quarterly loss of over a billion dollors. They were one of the largest writers of sub-prime mortgages. As a result they took their bad decisions out on their base of credit card holders and rate jacked many of them (over 1 million cards) by 10 to 20 additional points on the APR. They are in desperate shape and have very little ethics under the current circumstances.
