You might as well flush your money down the toliet. This bet is for them not just to make it to the game, but actually win it. The best chance lately they had for a winning season was win they had Cutler. In the SEC East they have to beat TN, FL, GA, SC and even KY is getting better. Then they would probably have to face an LSU or Auburn. They are just always out-talented and they have a history...of losing. Bobby Johnson is making some improvements (yes, they finally beat my VOLS again a couple of years ago before we brought back Cutcliff as OC) but he will always be battling teams with mostly superior athletes....difficult to recruit to a program with such a tradition of losing and not going to bowl games.

Vanderbilt football has not won a conference championship since the foundation of the Southeastern Conference in 1932, and its last winning season was in 1982 under coach George McIntyre. In its entire history, Vanderbilt has only competed in three bowl games, with a combined all-time post-season record of 1-1-1.
It was in the late 1970s and early 1980s that it seemed this trend could be abating, with two of Vanderbilt's post-season appearances coming in 1974 and 1982, and with several near-winning season records.
The last Commodore team with a winning record, the 1982 squad (with a record of 8-4), played in the Hall of Fame Bowl.
