Some candid talk about his stint on MNF...he just admitted the very first NFL game he ever saw live was his first broadcast for ABC, he had never seen a game live...that is pretty funny.

Miller has a great knack for recalling things from the past very quickly.

He also said Al Michaels use to flip on the switch to cut Dennis off if he didn't get the joke (before it could reach the ABC audience), and a couple times the jokes were so 'deep' they went right over Al's head , meanwhile the guys in the truck are explaining the joke to Al in his headset!

He was awesome. He would be great as a regular in the b-ball booth.

How about his, "Who hit that homer, Nancy Drew?"

Holy cow....They asked him to stay for two innings, he says ok....he sticks around , makes a joke while Drew is homering and they just asked him to leave in mid inning!

Is anyone watching this?

You notice a lot of these guests talk and try to be funny while important things are happening in the game. It makes me cringe, you know back in the day they used a walking cane to pull bad acts off, I wish they would that.

Only guy to visit a booth that has ever made me laugh or I thought was entertaining is Denis Leary.

I mean really, they bring Jay Z in the booth to talk about his new album during a MNF game. Who cares?!

I was a little surpreised Miller kept going with his joke as the go ahead homer was sailing out of the park...

It really did appear to be an uncomfortable moment...and shortly thereafter they said 'okay Dennis it was great having you' ..this right after they asked him to stay for another inning....

I think he realized they were moving him off quicker than expected, he parted by saying 'sorry to be a buzzkill' while he's saying this Az is doubling off the ivy LOL!

That was hilarious! What was the Ron Zook comment before he sang?

Nothing is worse than when ABC/ESPN whores out a portion of the game to promote one of their shitty sitcoms. How many times do we have to endure Jim Belushi on MNF for Christ's sake?

Aside from being funny, Miller has a loquacious talent that few can match. He does a fine radio show.

Miller is hilarious but he's pretty deep sometimes. I remember one monday night game that me and 5 or 6 others were watching together. Some running back makes a great 20 yard run using a couple of beautiful spin moves. They show the replay and Miller says "look at those spin moves! He looks like Phil Chenier going to the hole!" Me and one other dude were rolling (I thought that was about the funniest thing I had ever heard) but the other people in the room were like... WTF.... what the hell does that mean? He could have said Michael Jordan or Magic Johnson on someone like that but he goes with Phil Chenier. LOL

I know what you mean, he uses a lot of old references....he said perhaps the funniest thing I ever heard and to this day I can't recall what it was..everything with Dennis is a comparison/reference, the guy is brilliant at what he does.

one other gem from Dennis Miller. He was talking about how you always see the same actors in the movies. He said "Michael Caine is in everything... I've seen him in dramas, comedys, action movies..... you name it. The other day I went over to my sisters house and we were watching her wedding video and damned if Michael Caine didnt show up in this thing."

:aktion033 :lolBIG: very nice.

that comment today he made abpout his first MNF on ABC appearance... he has Al Michaels the best play by play man of his generation on one side, Dan Fouts with a HOF ring the size of Equador on the other, Paul Tagliabue with an arm on his shoulder, and all he could think about was 'this is my first live NFL game, I wonder if they realize this'

I thought he was great on MNF, it has sucked since. Love both Miller and Leary, two angry intelligent white men. Two guys you don't want to have an argument with.
