Judge, how you like it in CR? What landed you there too if you were not born and raised that is.

Where does the $$ go further, Mexico or CR?

Quailty of living?

Bigbet, not to make this thread any less important but there have been plenty of threads like this one created before which will help you out considerably.

I say this because we've a nswered so many of these questions that you might get 'one sentence posts' from people too lazy to retype what they think over again :)

Always a thought.

For now, growing the business I bought. Could possibly sell in 2-5 years, I'll see.

Been 4 years since I really "worked", I'm adjusting I guess.....

BB, I love it here. Came down to work, fell in love with the country and intend to spend the rest of my life here. For me the quality life is great. Excellent climate, natural beauty everywhere, and a relaxed pace of day to day life. The Costa Rican people are some of the nicest on earth. Crime has gone up since I arrived but all in all, not that bad. Mostly petty crime, but violence has also increased. Have never had a problem where I live. Any other info you need, feel free to ask.

BB, if you're serious-don't rule out Panama.

I'd certainly go spend a month or so down there before getting to serious. It's definitely not for everyone.

p.s. Mexico is a dump, but I know several people who moved to Cancun & love living there.

QL, I have heard rumours of income tax down here, but nobody seems to pay it or know anything about it. Plus you are exempt from US tax for up to 90g a year.

Panama and Nicaragua have a much lower cost of living. I personally don't care much for Panama. Too flat, too hot and the people are sort of cold. Still investigating Nicaragua.
