i just witnessed the most terrible balls and strikes call. the pitch was well below roberts knees and caught just a few inches off the ground and was called strike three. the situation was 2 on and 1 out. the o's announcers said it was a horrible call... roberts (who never argues calls) was livid. the next batter hit a single and 1 run scored, when it shouldve been a tie game.
in light of refs fixing games they need to look at crooked umps too. that pitch was not even close.
