Federal authorities believe Tim Donaghy, the referee at the center of a game-fixing probe, will cooperate with investigators and possibly implicate other officials or players involved in the scandal, according to a report in the New York Daily News.
Citing law enforcement sources, the paper reported Donaghy used mobbed-up bookies to place thousands of dollars in bets over the past two seasons, including games he officiated.
The same sources said two of the bookies are expected to be arrested this week after Donaghy surrenders to authorities in New York, perhaps as early as Tuesday.
Investigators do not know yet whether the scandal extends beyond Donaghy.
"Who knows what he'll say if he comes in," a law enforcement source told the Daily News.
