I think I'm in the wrong business. A quick look down in the tout tracker forum and I see this:

GET TODAYS WINNER $34.95 PAYPAL

$35? For one pick? Forget the winrate you need to hit to overcome the of cost on top of the vig, think about the money you'd make as the tout. A handful of clowns a day and you're making 1k a week, with almost no time commitment. Do people seriously pay $35 for a pick?

I want to know how people fall for touts in general. Some stranger claims they went 70% last season, or went 11-3 last week and people decide that it must be a good investment? Or are these people just looking for an excuse to bet? Is the access to a tout all they need to convince them to get some action?

people do pay it, people are stupid...I would wager at the very least, 40% of the Rxers have paid for a pick before. 1% will admit it though.

I think you're way off, why would people pay for picks if they could tail some guy here for free...its dumb lazy people who pay for opinions.

Mr J.,

Do this. Somehow get email addresses for guys that play. Say you get 1000, team A and team B are playing each other, send emails to 500 people talking up Team A as the play of the week, send emails to the other 500 talking up team B as the play of the week. Whichever team wins, repeat with the 500 that you emailed the winner but again, send 250 for Team A and 250 for team B, repeat the following day, splitting 125/125. Now you have 125 people that have 3 winners and think you are a genius, instead of giving out your play for free, offer to sell it to them for $20 again splitting it between whoever pays. say 50 people pay, you have $1000 and 25 people who now have 4 straight winners, offer to again sell it, this time your "10* play of the year" for $50. guarantee you will get 20 people paying for it after you are now 4 for 4. $2k in 5 days, easy as pie. people are dumb.

the Lock City thread got 10,000 hits in a few days. A lot were from us satisfied customers, but how many were from lurkers and other infrequent posters that came out of the shadows, I guess the word "Lock' really is a magnet for a lot of people

My 2 cents.....

Well, I'd have to imagine since the internet appeared 12 or so years ago, that their profits have declined a lot. Too many sites out there like this that educate people etc......

I'm sure their customer base is mainly high school kids, college kids, and the big time dumb degenerate gamblers.

I've only seen one tout who knows what he's doing, to be honest. I'm not going to tout him, but we all pretty much know who he is. He's the only tout I've seen with a ridiculous documented record, that continued after he went tout. Everyone else I've seen lies about their #'s or manipulates them.

Not this guy J-Man.
I have never, and will never pay for a tout, because "I am quite capable of picking a loser without anybody else's help".

I admit I've paid for picks before, but I've observed and analyzed the service before betting, such as the availability of lines and results numbering thousands of bets.

I'm talking about the typical scamdicappers who sell an obviously "too good to be true" deal. I guess the possibility of easy money causes many peoples' brains to switch off. These people just don't appear professional in the slightest. They use words and terms such as "easy", "lock", "game of year" etc. They must be the most obvious cons out there and yet so many people fall for them. Degenerative behaviour mixed with ignorance and naivety I guess.

Good strategy. I won't go into what improvements I'd make just in case I go tout ;) I think I'd make a good scamdicapper, just a shame I probably couldn't live with it.

Stay out of the basement theres a stench down there.

It's good for the occasional laugh.

There are thousands that pay for picks. Many don't have time to cap games themselves and rely on a service. My clients are up this baseball season 12 week total = 144-97 +1,130.5 units. BUT most would never admit to buying plays. :money8:

Nice job this season, but in the long run after paying for the service and juice it is pointless to pay for the service. You will have to hit 60% or higher regularly to make profit.

I agree 5 star. Its a tough game (baseball), many games. Believe it or not most who buy plays are in it for their bailout game on Sunday evening or Monday to get even or make a profit. Most don't know anything about money management and thats the reason most lose who buy services plays. I can go 22-2 in baseball and have new clients sign up and then go 0-3 and be a shitty service to them. Its a tough game out there.

We used to have a Friday round table with 4-9 guys. Everyone would have their capping done for Sat. foots. Rarely a guy would come in with a 5* as it was the highest. We would grill him for a long time and ask reasons for the big play. The group would come to a decision on games and make the plays with a local. We collected so many weeks it was ridiculous. But then there were Sundays.

If I knew then (mid 20's) what I know now would have never gave some of it back the next day.

Just wanted to say that info from the masses (i.e) this forum is all you need. If you want to put no time into capping pay for the losers.

Most of the biggest winners I know have, and still do, pay for picks.
