Tracking people by email address

I got an email from some guy who I think is my competitor. He has a yahoo address and was wondering where is the best place to see who this is.

He wants me to email my 13 page proposal and contract so he can copy it.

There has to be a great place to track people down right? :monsters-:monsters-

I could easily make a hotmail account without providing any information whatsoever.....the only thing they can do is talk to the email host and find out what the IP address was where they sent the email/started account....

.....i can't see Hotmail or Gmail or someone giving that out without reason....but I'm no expert....maybe the computer ppl can figure out a way

Yep. The email said he was a guy in California with a winery and it looks like it is a buddy of mine in the same industry trying rip my stuff off.

Why do people do that to people they know and trust?

We have a 13 page SEO proposal that has helped me close 25k+ jobs and he wanted it. We also paid 2100.00 for a LOCKED up contract which he would like to use when you get those kind of clients.

One more person I am going to have to forgive to stay free. I hate it when God tests me like this.

I am thinking of sending him an email and show him how cool it is that we can trace our contact forms IP addresses. Our forms capture all that info

I think he has a cable modem connection with Comcast based on that. I think Comcast uses the county and then the state, so based on that I would say Houston, TX or some county in Texas that could be abbreviated HS

yup

hsd1.tx. is the CO that your connected to. So you are bothing using the same central office

you guys are probably on the same subnet as well

HS is Harris County which is where Comcast has their routers.

im sure they have routers all over the Houston area.. in Toledo, Ohio.. the main broadband provider (buckeye cable systems) has 38 routers in this little old city.

We also have 4 COs that directly connect to the AT&T building thats in Downtown Toledo which is nothing but a server farm of just insane telecommunication technology... stuff IVe never touched... yet

That is a sweet tool.

I emailed him and showed him how our new forms collect Ip addresses and how I can see where people are from the contact form.

I will let his imagination and guilt chew on him while I will just forgive him and stay free from being bitter and angry.
