actually...the absolute best thing to do...if you don't mind missing about the 1st 3 innings. Is go to the bar at the ballpark, McFaddens. You don't need a ticket to go in there. Just booze for a little. after the 1st few innings poeple start coming in to drink and just stay at the bar. You can easily buy a ticket off of someone who has no intentions of going back to the game. and they'll sell their tix to you cheap.
wolf - these guys are right man if your looking for tickets and just wanna enjoy yourself and the part get the standin room ticket so you can walk around and catch the game. head out to center field and chill out there so cool to take in the game from out there. and who knows , the way howards been hitting you might get plunked with a ball.
The guys with the standing room thoughts are right. Depending on your agenda, most people like to be out and about, visiting all the areas of the park anyway. Plus, like stated, its really easy to move down seats.
If you want to lock in good seats, then i would just grab em from a scalper. I have probably done it 40 times for Phillies games and never got bad tickets. About 5 years ago i sold Flyers tix and got counterfit back from a scalper, that was the extent of any bad beats from tickets for me. If it was an Eagles game i wouldnt tell you to grab for a scalper.
I didnt realize the cash was counterfit, we were moving a ton of tickets that night. Ended up realizing it when i stopped at the OTB by the stadium and put it in a machine. When it wouldnt take it, i looked and didnt see the stripe. I think i sent about 10 diffferent people to Wawa to buy packs of gum, lol.
