Which is ridiculous.

I have a couple of high end hd dvrs and i get all hbo. Just added howard stern, showtime and sports package (which i now need for nfl network!).

I suppose I am getting a lot of extras but that price is ridiculous. I feel like I'm being taken.

90% of the time, all those extra movie channels don't have a decent movie playing. I would get rid of them and keep the sports package if you're looking to save costs.

Go FTA!!

I watch about 6 hours a week TV (sunday nights) and direct tv bangs me out for like 100 a month, but if I ever find myself with a free second, I am going FTA.

I have the baseball package both at home and at the bar and I have watched about 4 innings at home a season on it.

go without it for a week and see how you feel. It is a must and unfortuantely the cable company knows it.

I cancel HBO when Sopranos and Entourage aren't on. So basically I pay $12/month to watch either or both of those shows.

Mine is ~$1320/year + whatever PPVs I get (usually all the UFCs, so + $40/month) + $250 for NFL Sunday Ticket (which I may cancel).

up here in canada you can get up with FTA for about 600$ which includes all of Dish Network and all of Bell Expressvu + all Bell Xpressvu HDTV (it doesnt currently give you Dish Network HDTV however).

Did you see my thread about the price of the NFL Ticket. Do a search for it. We called DTV and got $10 off for the next 12 months and also got the Super Fan package for free. Also stretched out the payments for 7 months.

yeah, I tried calling a few days ago and they had some computer issues. I haven't got around to calling yet. I'm not sure I want it with the reduced price. I get Fox and CBS from SF, LA and NY, which means I will always have 2 additional games and sometimes 3, so I get 6 and sometimes 7 of the games without having the ticket instead of 4 like most people.

The only thing bad with Sunday ticket is that all of the games are on at once and if you don't have 8 TV's you are SOL.

I always buy the mlb package and both college football and basketball. More games spread throughout the day with college football.
