I was just booking my flight (still pretty cheap at Orbitz, btw) and had planned to return on the Tuesday. But then I realised that day is Sept 11.

Security will be BULLSHIT that day. Careful how plan your return. Your wait at the airport could be far longer than normal.

I guess they figure they can juice us out of a little more $ from Hawaii

You know that anything from Hawaii or to there has have some extra fees added to it since they probably think you can afford it.....JMO

Wow. I booked Seattle-Maui on Hawaiian for $400 US for an October flight. I can't believe Las Vegas costs so much more. I would check all the intervening mainland destinations and check SouthWest from there to Las Vegas to see if I could cut the price a little.

I think there was an ATA flight for a little under $500, but I just paid the extra $100....the Hawaiian flight times were a little better and I like them better than ATA all around.

....i also didnt' want a layover...that flight over the pacific ocean is long enough....might as well add that other hour to nevada

another thing....ppl in Hawaii LOVE VEGAS! there are no indian reservation casino's here and there is no law that allows any type of gambling for us. so vegas flights tend to fill up faster than other mainland destinations

I found Honolulu-Los Angeles for $322 and Los Angeles-Las Vegas for $132 with a 2 hour layover in LA each way. Total $434, hope it doesn't make you sick.

I guess you pay your money and make your choice. Enjoy your time in Las Vegas.
