San Diego Padres ML +124 (5 Units)

Like him or not, Justin Germano is a decent pitcher who should have no problems getting the job done today. His last outing was a rough one against the Phillies but when you consider that he was more nervous than ever pitching against the team that drafted him, I think he can be excused. On the flip side of things Adam Eaton was out to get venegeance and that was that. I know the Padres are not exactly generating a ton of offense on the road or at home for that matter but Germano has been good enough away from home and good enough in recent weeks to give them a shot here. The Rockies are on fire at home and against right handed pitchers but Aaron Cook is not a guy you can rely on to pitch well for long periods of time and I think today things will start to fall apart on his recent good starts. The Rockies are only 6-20 in Cook's last 26 starts against the NL West which is a big concern and which means that certain guys in this division have his number. Its really hard for me to understand why so many people like the Rockies in this spot when they have lost 6 of Cook's last 8 starts and when a young and much more intriguing pitcher is on the other side of the mound? San Diego has pretty much dominated this series the last two years and with this being the final game of the three game series, I think San Diego has the big time pitching advantage and I think they come through with the win here. You just can't trust Aaron Cooke more than he has been trusted his last few starts. It's time for Germano to get back on track in a ballpark that is more likely to let his offense produce some runs for him than his own home ballpark. I am taking the Padres to the bank in this one.
