i downloaded torrent swapper and azureus and i went to sites like torrentspy.com and the bt status keeps saying connecting to peers...the priority is lowest for three of the films and normal for one but nothing is happening....this is so frustrating.

can someone explain to me how to get these movies playing?

Make sure you have a well seeded torrent.

I can't speak for the things you're using but I use the client "BitLord" and the search engine "btjunkie". Once you search get the one that has the most seeders or at least a strong ratio of seeders to leechers. If there are too many leechers and not enough seeders it will be a slower download.

Downloads for movies and such obviously arn't going to be instant fast, but if you get a good torrent and are on broadband you should be getting at least around 80kbs and as high as 300kbs (From what I've seen).

Are you behind a firewall or router? Best torrent client is uTorrent, and best search (as mentioned above) is btjunkie

If you're behind a router or firewall, look at the documentation that comes with your torrent software and your router/firewall. Likely, you will need to "forwad" (i.e. open up) some ports on your firewall/router so that BT traffic can get through.

If you're behind a corporate, educational, etc network, you may be SOL as a lot of them block BT traffic specifically.

I can't figure out the torrents as well. Gave up a long time ago.

The downloads were moving so slow.

If you have a decent internet connection, and you are either not behind a firewall/router or have properly set up your firewall/router if you are, torrents are going to be the fastest way to download things so long as the torrents are popular or new (i.e. well "seeded"). I have cable internet and it's not uncommon for me to see torrent downloads go as fast as 600-700KB/sec

Word.

It's all about getting shit while it's fresh. If you're looking for some obscure porn like "Diana Jones and the Temple of Poon" than you're going to get blue balled.

Trust me.

Please see www.portforward.com for more information about how to map a port.

Please make absolutely sure that PeerGuardian2 or Protowall is allowing utorrent.com (72.20.34.145) in either of those programs. Those of you using ipfilter.dat should make sure the list does not include the website's IP. After making sure of this, re-run this test by refreshing the page (F5).

Go to portforward.com ... it should have instructions for how to forward a port on your router/firewall. In uTorrent, in the options, there is an option to set the port that uTorrent uses for transfers. Set it to something above 1000, make sure the "change port every time you run uTorrent bla bla bla" option is unchecked, and then forward that port on your router/firewall per the instructions on portforward.com

Done.

In uTorrent, in the options-->connection screen, the first option. Make sure that number is set high (mine is 19062), then make sure the "randomize" option is not selected.

then according to the directions for your router/firewall, make sure the port you chose in uTorrent is open and forwarded to your computer, in and out, udp and tdp. then it should work, unless you're behind some other thing you're not aware of, or you're downloading a super-old torrent. try a new one with lots of seeds/leechers ("good health") to test it

:lolBIG: Reminds me of back in the days when me and everyone I knew used to have dial-up and it took all night to download all the songs you wanted from napster..
