Tim Wakefield has owned TB in his career (16-2), and he's from the Fla. area which may get him a little extra pumped up to pitch in front of his home folks.

The Red Sox bats were wide awake last night after dealing with two real tough pitchers in CC and Carmona....tonight they get another gas can in Jason Hammel who has thrown 65 career MLB Inn and has allowed 52 runs...allowing 136 baserunners as well....and once Boston get's into that BP look out..TB bully one of the worst in MLB history.

Wakefield has recorded 20 straight decisions to start 2007, he's won 84% of his career decisions vs TB.

I dont think that this really has much to do with him being from Florida. I dont know how being excited would help you throw a better knuckleball. I think this is probably a result of the fact that the Red Sox are MUCH better than the Devil Rays, and also the fact that many of the young players that constantly cycle through the Devil Rays order have seen very few knuckleballers in their career. winning! and dealing as usual vs TB...and for those who warned me about the opposite stats (as usual) thanks anyway....TB has the worst BP in MLB history, or close to it....too many ways to win this one at that price.
