NYM Game 1 O8 -110 ($110)
Brewers Game 1 +112 ($100) ~ If you havent been able to catch Parra pitch out of the bullpen, you might want to take a look at him today. He has a perfect-game this year in the minors, and was the prize pitching prospect of the Brewers. After shaking off some jitters, he should be ready to go today. A tough lefty can really take a lot out of the Cardinals.

Yankees -1.5 -120 ($120)
Cincinnati -118 ($118)
Giants -120 ($120)
LAD +130 ($100)

Final Card for today. Nothing that jumped out, so Im going to take the favorite I feel best about and hope Vegas was right on with their favorites. Its tough trying to find some dogs to take when we have such a terrible night in pitching underdogs.

The main reason that I am choosin to take the Dodgers in this spot is because I feel like Francis' value is completly over-rated right now. While he is 3-0 in his last 3 starts, he is still featuring an ERA of 6.50 with a WHIP of 1.44. A look even closer to his numbers shows that he has struggled with teams like SD (You know about thier offense) in SD which is a big ballpark and a Brewers team that was on a slide at that time. He pitched well against a Pirates team that was in the middle of a terrible slide, and at the time was only batting .210 against lefties. This Dodgers team has feasted on left-handed pitching this year posting a .290 average over the season and a .310 average in the last ten. If there is a porblem lately with the Dodgers, it has been the demise of their bullpen. Well, the problem also is one that Colordao has struggled with as of late too. Im taking Tomko, because I think he is a very streaky pitcher, and after he posted a wonderful 4-1 ground ball ratio last outing, he should be prepared to deal with the light air in Colorado.

Im taking the Yankees here for similar reasons. When Clemens takes the mound, we know that we should get a solid performance in which he limits an opponent to very few oppurtunities to score. He lost his last outing to the Orioles 4-0, but that doesnt exactly tell the entire story. Clemens was working easily through that line-up until he left a splitter up and was torched by an Aubrey Huff three-run homer. I dont expect the Orioles to score more than 3 or 4 today, and that puts this Yankees team in a very nice spot to win this game by 2+. I dont put much stock in the performance by Guthrie to start this series, as the Yankees bats were a little tired after making a late-night road trip. Yesterday was jsut goofy with the ending of the first game, and the Yankees never really appeared to be in the games. I think the Yankees will continue to explode against left-handers (.330 in their last 10) and should get into the Baltimore bullpen early where they have major issues. The Orioles have posted a sub 2 ERA in their last 10, but those numbers may be a bit confusing. The have not needed to extend into their longer guys, and those guys should be a big rusty if New York can get to their starter early. Add on the fact that Burress has a 8.40 ERA in his last 3, and I see now reason why the Yanks dont run away with this one.

Hope that stuff helped. Have a great day, and good luck on your plays.

I really have no idea where that game is going to go. Lester looked great against the Indians, but his 3 walks were a bit concerning to me. For the D-rays to get to Lester, they will need him to help them out with some bad control. Shields is a complete mystery to me too. He can do well, and then he can run up high-pitch counts by trying to strike everyone out. If Sheilds would just throw up his good sinker and let opponents pound the ball into the ground then he would be a much better pitcher. The problem is that he tries to throw too many fastballs up in the zone, and misses belt high in the middle of the plate alot. Im not touching this game, as I see both pitchers as a complete toss-up at this point. Sorry I couldnt be more help, but this is just a match-up that leaves me confused.

Don't get too excited about the Rockies game. It's soupy as hell here & setting up for another monsoon. I'd put the game at 50/50 at best to go tonight.

Thanks for coming by TT. I hope they get that game off. Ive started today 0-3 after a nice 10-2 strech, and caught some terrible beats today. Two shitty pitchers in NY throw well, Cordero blows a big lead, and the D-backs win on a walk off for the 3rd straight day. It might be in my best interest if that game doesnt go off.

Brewers -117 ($234)
