Is it positive EV to buy up LA Dodger tickets and get people to go to the game for you and give you 90% rights to any ball they might catch in turn for the free tickets and a token stipend.

What are Barry Bonds next 2 home run balls going to be worth? How expensive are outfield seats in LA?

Bonds has stated that he will give the lucky person who catches the next two home run balls a years supply of the clear and the cream.

It would be even easier to just pay people going anyway and have them sign over 90% of the rights. I bet people would do this for $25-30.

you could pay 1000 people and spend 25k and have maybe a 5% chance of catching the home run if he hits one. You would only offer to someone in the outfield seats. If the ball gets more than $500k then it would be +EV. Of course he would have to hit the home run, so you better count on paying for 2-3 games. You might get lucky and hit a middle by having two of your "partners" catch #755 and #756

I don't believe that ball will go for more than 300k, if that.

I believe there will be some ppl who are not willing to accept your offer and would like to try their luck. What if they catch the ball. :think2:

how do people think up these silly ideas?
Your gonna find a 1000 people and pay them 25 bucks on the if come that one of them might catch a ball? Seriously what kind of stuff are you smokin?
Risk 25k and hope he hits a hr to one of your people.
The rx should have a stupid room, for people posting out of this world stuff.

if you have both balls and sell them before the season ends....you will make over 1,000,000

I agree with cd329....this investement is way -EV

but going to watch one of Bonds' next games and sitting in HR area is +EV (however unlikely it is you catch a ball. )

I'll give $25 to every pitcher who plunks him in the head when he comes to bat from now until he breaks the record.

I'd be willing to bet he doesnt break this record in the next 10 games because no pitcher is going to throw to him. Nobody wants their name in the books for that, at their own park.

fuck all that
if i was a pitcher I wouldnt want to give up a homer to anyone because I wanna win the game but if I had to give one up I would want it to be 756
20 years from now you could write a book about it
Everyone cant be Clemens, might as well be remembered for something

I didn't say you were going to buy everyones interest in the ball but 1000 would be about 5% of the possible seats his home run could get hit to. You are not getting it 100%, but you are also only spending 25K which is only 2.5% of the value if it is worth $1,000,000.

I know this idea is out there and not too much more than a passing thought, but these are the crazy kinds of things that have made me successful.

I'm sure you've had actual lucid thoughts that have made you successful, not nonsensical things like this.

Wrong. I equate this to many things I have done like getting 75% of the cash prizes on online casino monthly contests. If you calculate what it will cost to win the prizes and then go after it aggressively when you are confident the end result will be positive
