Big Congrats to poster CalvinTy for winning Sunday's $1,500 Parlay!!!

How about a big congrats to poster CalvinTy Post #72 for hitting Sunday's three team parlay and winning the second of two $1,500 cash prizes. He won the tiebreaker by going 3-0 and barely beating an unlucky Doug who needed the final game of the tiebreaker Tigers/Angels game to fall even in it's attendance to win.

I was getting ready to post my picks knowing that I saw your 1st post saying this:

"These games will be played on Sunday July 29th...All entries must be posted by 2PM EDT on Sunday July 29th..."

But I see that you have locked that thread as of the usual 1pm EDT time...

The following are the four winners who will receive $1,000 and two winners who will receive $1,500 in cash at the upcoming Rx.com Bash 2007 (either one).

Wil, are you going to make the $3000 contest, with maybe 12 games? That might be a good idea, this way a tiebreaker wont play as big of a roll. Maybe it could be best record out of the 12 games. I would think that only 1 player would go 10-2 or better. If anyone ties, then it would only be 2 or 3 people

Good job guys! I know that last year the site had more winners and more cash to give out, but it wasnt guaranteed money like this. Last year you had to win the blackjack hand to get paid. I would have loved the excitement of having the $25,000 of last year.

Sorry about that, I guess I should have rephrased it differently, CalvinTy is more prolific than veteran judging from his post count. I know now that he only joined last September but he does have 2,850 posts.


Sorry for the mistake, to be honest I was looking at his post count when I described CalvingTy as a veteran poster which was an error on my part, he just seemed to be a poster here longer that he actually has been.

These contests get more difficult everyday.

Thanks, everyone! I'm sure many of you know the drill about hearing how people say, "I can't believe something like this happened to me... everyone else, yes, but not me". That was the feeling I had for a while.

Especially when I had a very lucky day... I was making my daily bets and then was all ready to make my contest pick at like 1:02pm figuring I saw it was closing 2pm (which I already noticed as "a different closing time'). Then, I saw the thread being locked prematurely. I was like, "oh well, I can wait to try for the final prize this week...".

My gal had walked into the office just at that time to let me know we needed to go out. I then told her about the locked thread, and that I guess I'll do the next one. She was like, "can you let that Wil know about it...?"

The rest is history! My gal told me, "I am glad I was patient for an extra few minutes!" LOL.

I'm going to the August bash, due to school starting for my gal and her kid in September. I would have loved to meet most of you at the Sept bash including Doug. I'd have given him a treat!
